Amazing the reverse bell curve if you look at the ratings for this song, 8,9,10 or 1,2,3 not much in between. 10 for me, reminds me of a time growing up in the late 70s. Was a favourite song of my crazy best mate who died tragically in a car crash at 17 yrs old, cannot listen to this without thinking of him.
Please play.
some serious philistinism here
This poor bloke always sounds like singing causes him physical pain.
Elvis fat and on drugs??

Most Excellent... the ratings show that folks either love Joy Division or hate them. At the time, I thought it really stood out from the top hits of its day, and equally from those of 1983, when I first heard it. The ur-band of goth-rock, IMO.
Great segue from "Breathe Me," too.

Sounds like the singer just had a root canal and his mouth is stuffed with gauze. (The freezing hasn't worn off either.)
Heard the opening chords and was all set for David Bowie.
Disappointing.
Disappointing.
This song is truly horrible.
Is this song a joke?
I thought it was Nick Cave
Love the band's name. Very nice song here as well
Wow, awful.
I didn't know a whole lot of Joy Division but watched the documentary and the more I hear the more I like. Very haunting sound to it.

Love this brilliant song...
My upload. One of the saddest, and yet most beautiful, things ever to emerge from rock music. Complete, utter desolation without a hint of hope, except in that redemptive sweep of synth washing the tune along like the tide leaving a drowned corpse on the beach. Still can't quite wrap my brain around it. It's just fucking brilliant, it is.

Joy Division's Ian Curtis by ~JoniGodoy
Jonathan Godoy N. ©2007-2010 ~JoniGodoy
Ilustration for SWITCH Magazine, about the sad and melancolic life of the young english vocalist Ian Curtis (1956-1980), who was the lyricist and occasional guitarist of the band Joy Division, which he helped form in 1977 in Manchester, England.
His passion for music led him to work in a record shop for a short time.
Please play this. It most certainly has a place here.
Anybody seen the video? Fits perfectly
