I'm not at all a "jazz type", but I'll try to answer your question: Most of the verses in this song are essentially a "i- v - VII" progression in a minor key (A minor); "Take Five" is largely a "i - v" progression in a minor key (Eb minor) in the verses. Also, this song is in 4/4 time, not 5/4 time They do sound somewhat similar, which may also be because she's strumming in a syncopated, "jazzy" type of rhythm.
The guitar riff always reminds me of Brubeck's 'Take Five'.. Would love to hear from you jazz types if the changes are similar?

She's a one woman's band, you just have to see her in her last IECM gig, Absolutely stunningly amazing!
Doesn't she play most of the instruments for the songs she writes and sings? There's a possibility she's the one on the cymbals/drums for this recording.

I like this. I really like that nutty cymbal that comes in. Sounds a little raw and garage-y.
I don't think I've heard anything from her yet that I don't like.

Vocals are similar to what Norah Jones sounds like on her new album. I do like KT, though she has better in the play list.

She has so many amazing tracks on that album, waiting to hear something else than that cherry tree song...like "Under the weather" for example.
great lyrics
Doesn't work for my current mood. Just thought everyone would like to know that incredibly useful piece of information.
Nice.

Clap Clap - I could also listen to it in Mono without a difference.
Hmmm...this is kinda cool, actually. Makes me think Joan Osborne, but not as -- what's the word i'm looking for -- presumptuous, maybe?
I like the claps :)
