I usually have a pretty low tolerance of Merchant's vocal style. There's something about the way she bends the tone and volume of so many notes, often at both ends, that just grates on me. It's much more restrained and controlled in this one which lands in quite a lovely way for me.

Note to self: never listen to this beautiful song moments before getting on a WebEx call! Tears
This one always gets to me. Such beauty in the words. I imagine that if I had a do-over, I'd find a love like this. Until then, I shall sing to myself.

I was thinking, Ugh! Natalie M. Went to psd and saw I rated it 10. LOL. Must be because my beloved wife has stage 4 cancer, and this song makes me appreciate her every day we have left.

Beautiful song.
"Without my beloved soul. I renounce my life as my right." - Gets me every time I listen to this song..

The ending is cut off. Great song.

I think you may have misunderstood my comment. To me, this song describes the tragic but inevitable ending of a happy marriage.
I recently went to a funeral, where I had the opportunity to roam about the headstones a bit. Every now and then I would encounter a husband/wife tomb where one had departed this world a month or two before the other. I found these couples particularly poignant cases, probably very close in life as in death, about which the lovely, reflective NM is likely singing.
Omnem crede diem tibi diluxisse supremum
Grata superueniet, quae non sperabitur, hora.
