Now drink the Coolade
Such a cool song. i haven't heard it in long time.
Genial Reggae. Del mejor. Gran presencia música africana que le da más valor.
I like the Rasta emphasis on the last syllable : Hallu-Jah. Very Black Hebraic. Great used of horns and percussion.
Roll me a fat one and I will chill😎
Just the sound and thought needed for all the work to be done today :)
We need more of this....more roots and dub music please.
Bless, easy 8 from me

Probably not, but then songs don't always have to be beautiful, intellectual or eclectic. This, like much of reggae, is a hymn for the faithful, which the unfaithful can also bop along to. Simple song, simple message. I can't be doing with the lyrics, as an atheist, but the sound gets my feet tapping independently from my rational mind. Which, arguably, is the function of a lot of music: to bypass the frontal cortex and go straight to the fun-loving Zaphod Beeblebrox pleasure centres :o)

Reggae is the equivalent of Songs of Praise, but an awful lot more fun and danceable.

Well said. I find a nice long slow reggae tune a refreshing addition to the eclectic playlist here. I hadn't heard this before, thanks Bill.

I"d rather listen to Gospel in that case. and no, I'm not a Christian.

Amen to that brother

How about the Hallelujah from Jeff Buckley, or Leonard Cohen? much more intellectual, eclectic and at the very least beautiful, none of which apply to this song

The Burning Spear needs more respect! We need more reggae in this world for peace and unity...

I highly agree, this song is just... there, which is not a good thing.

I'll tune in later and see if this has gone away. Later, he added . . . I have learned, sadly enough, that this song is one of those that gets "stuck" in my head, and I hear the hook repeated over and over when I'm doing mundane things like mowing the lawn. "Stuck" songs drive me nuts. They compete with the other voices in my head, and the voices particularly don't like this song. Argh. ;)

Well, it IS the same word! Hallelujah is Hebrew for "Praise the Lord" in which "Halal" means "Praise", and "Jah" is a short form of "Jahweh" or "Jehova", the name of God. So, Burning spear isn't playing wordgames here, or seeing something that isn't there!
Please NO! Not the extended mix!!!!

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.. one more like this and it is bedtime. Make it stop.
hallelu-JAH.. this needs help
please stop
I hate mixes on principle, because they dstroy the integrity of the individual songs. In this particular case, I got sick of the refrain after the first 10 repeats. How many times does it repeat itself--666 times? Probably a great musical choice for people toking themselves into a stupor, however!
