She wears a halo of ashes
Spectre of the wind
Waits on me so patiently
I no longer can pretend
Sky lies a thousand miles below
Stars shine and the moon is clear
Nothing and for no one
Won't see me if you're here

I've been a long, long time away
Got one foot in the grave
Glorified in the dying of the sun

My angel pulls me closer
As my poison she crawls through
Walks with me so silently
I no longer can refuse
Tomorrow I'm a thousand miles behind
Stars shine and the moon below
Wake me where you find me
Pretend you don't know

I've been a long, long time away
With one foot in the grave
Glorified in the dying of the sun

She wears a halo of ashes
Spectre of the wind
Waits on me so patiently
I no longer can pretend
Tomorrow I'm a thousand miles behind
Face painted in the moon below
Wake me where you find me
Pretend you don't know

I've been a long, long time away
With one foot in the grave
Glorified in the dying of the sun

I've been a long, long time away
With one foot in the grave
Glorified in the dying of the sun

Can sure hear Jack Endino’s and Skin Yard’s influence on this one. Great sound.
Would have loved to see Lineman tour with The Doors,

A God like voice
The melody kinda reminds me of a System of a Down song 'Hypnotize'
I never hard of them before RP. Now, I like several of their tunes!  Thanx RP!
The more I hear this tune, the more I like it!!  Thanx RP!
Echo & The Bunnymen meets Tea Party
RIP Mark Lanegan

Such a unique, epic voice
"I'm going to ask you what kind of trees you are, you respond with screaming trees".

Me too....everytime...but that likely only happens for Canadians tbh...

Funny, now I recognize that for the first time - THANKS!
It also happens for Germans.
Excellent Tune! ...Scarier album cover than King Crimson's 1st album!
Very Echo And The Bunnymen!!!

This song sounds like early "The Tea Party"

Very like Echo and the Bunnymen but really, really bad. Quite an achievement.

I keep forgetting that RP was around 17 years ago when Jonno posted this remark.

Sure, this would be a bad Echo and the Bunnymen song but this ain't E&tB. It's a bit jarring for falling into the aural sphere of Ian and the boys.

It's not a great song but it's not that far off from a good song. Needs a bit of work.
I played them at WMUL 88.1 Marshall University every morning and danced through the studios. They had such a solid sound.

Wrong on all points! Totally wrong wrong wrong! The Trees were a FABULOUS Seattle band. I'm sorry you don't know this. A pity indeed.

actually from Ellensburg

Production sounds muffled. This should sound better.
This really sounds like an Echo and the Bunnymen song.

Wow! I've never heard a band like this!

What soaring vocals!

What soaring guitar playing!

What soaring drumming!

What soaring bass playing!

Wow!

The rough sound of the Trees works better in a grunge format. Here it sounds like a very bad karaoke on Echo and the Bunnyment

"know"? "know"!?! You say it like there's some registry somewhere that lists all the "FABULOUS" bands and that this guy failed to check it. FYI: It's called an opinion and, in mine, Jonno was right. This song is really, really bad.

and.... Just  WHAT makes you an authority with your uncultivated 'opinion'  ?
(LOL)
This album was one of the highlights of the 90s...and rock music in general. Saw them on this tour and Mark on his numerous solo tours. Stunning
Me love these lads long time. Uncle Anaesthesia for mine.
If Icicle Works, Echo & The Bunnymen and U2 had a drunken love fest orgy and produced an unwanted child...this would be it.

Huh.  I thought this was Echo and the Bunnymen.  I like it.

Yup!  Specifically reminds me somewhat of the song "The Cutter."   {#Whistle}
Ah.. The Connor boys and Mark Lanegan. Ellensburgs best.
Weird - so much of this sounds like Decembrists ...
Huh.  I thought this was Echo and the Bunnymen.  I like it.

Really gets my notice — quite a warbling, sitar-like sound to the strings in this...the strident vocals seem to harken back to another era.
Smokin' hot. Just what the doctor ordered. A unique blend of sounds and great production. This gets on my pod so I can hear it at will. Thanks, RP.

Kind of reminds me of Wishbone Ash.... Not bad.
quite likable imo
WOW! Haven't hear these guys in years. Thanks!

Its a Seattle thing. You wouldnt understand.
well, wrong in that it's nothing like the Bunnymen.
Nearly Lost You is a really good one from these guys.

Wow! Never knew they had it in 'em. I give it a 7 Dick.

IMHO, Dust is the best of the Trees cd's, primarily because of the contribution (understated but perfectly complimentary) of Benmont Tench on keyboards. These songs will be in "Sweet Oblivion" in a decade, but they are generally good and overlooked examples of the Flannel Years.

Instantly forgettable.
Anybody else think Tea Party (of Canada) when they hear this song? Of course, I like (the) Tea Party, so... Speaking of which, I\'d love to hear some of their stuff on RP sometime.
The Screaming Trees! Wheee. I want to upload "More Or Less," but I'm pretty sure that 158 kbps is too low. If anyone has Sweet Oblivion and can upload that song, that'd be very cool. :)
Forgettable noise, repetitive repetitive I forget, did I mention repetitive?
wow, it really does sound like Tea Party.
Pretty generic stuff
