I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
And if she needs me bad
I can find about two or three more

I got one through the basement
Two down the hall
And when the going gets tough
I got a hole in the wall

I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
And if she needs me bad
I can find about two or three more

I can come through the chimney like Santa Claus
Go through the window and that ain't all
A lot of good ways I don't want you to know
I even got a hole in the bedroom floor

I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
And if she needs me bad
I can find about two or three more

I got a way through the closet behind her clothes
A way through the attic that no one knows
A master key that fits every lock
A hidden door behind the grandfather clock

I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
I got 29 ways to make it to my baby's door
And if she needs me bad
I can find about two or three more

I can remember that sense of urgency in my 20s...tho just barely.

Are you the person who bought that album?
Why is the original just so much better?
Fantastic Artist and song. I was privileged to hear him play live at Union Chapel, Islington UK during August 2017.

Marc introduced 29 ways with a story that a young girl in the audience had told him it was her favourite of his songs and could he play it during the set, and how ironic it was that it's one of the few cover versions he's ever released.

We also got the full lowdown on the inspiration for Walking in Memphis, and the highlight for me, when asked for a pick from the audience, the response was Paper Walls, one of my favourites, which was played for the first time live in about a year.

A truly great artist who is much under appreciated, writing and performing clever songs avoiding obvious lyrics with forced rhymes.

There must be 29 ways to meet your lover.

Get off the bus, Gus...
