To major independence
But she's a lady through and through
She gives them quite a battle
All that they can handle
She'll bruise some
She'll hurt some too
But oh they love to watch her strut
Oh they do respect her but
They love to watch her strut
Sometimes they'll want to leave her
Just give up and leave her
But they would never play that scene
In spite of all her talking
Once she starts in walking
The lady will be all they ever dreamed
Oh they'll love to watch her strut
Oh they'll kill to make the cut
They love to watch her strut
Yeah love to watch her strut
Watch her strut
Good to hear these classics late at night. Reminds me of the usual classic rock fare from 30-40 years ago at night (whether at home or listening to the radio on a night shift), and makes those familiar nights feel a bit closer.
Oh, William...
The deeply uncool Bob Seger would be much more cool if you played better stuff. I know there's not that much, but there is some.
Start with "U.M.C." from the album Seven. It's likely the most clever song Seger has ever written.
Bob Segar is only 'deeply uncool' to insufferable music snobs.
Oh, baby. Bill Goldsmith is an American National Treasure of Disk Jockeys. In Japan, they would register him along with the guys who still know how to make katanas by hand. He may not be in the studio 7x24x365, but you can most definitely be assured that there is nothing random about the song selection at Radio Paradise. He and his wife, Rebecca, put a great deal of thought into the song selection, the sequencing and the multi-dimensional segues (tonal, rhythmic, temporal, melodic, thematic, etc.) .
This is an unusual selection for RP, though . . .
I think that we're kicking a little loose, during the COVID-19 crisis. The national disc jockey is stepping up to the plate.
RP forever!
Absolutely. Bill is the King of the Segue, DJ of the Global Soundtrack. Nothing random. Always subtle and even be overlooked, until a theme or pattern of some sort filters up and through the listeners general sense of Damn This Is Good Music.
This here is a good example of the genre-bending BillBecca talent for inserting a marginal artist hit like Mellencamp or Seger and make it listenable for those who aren't fans. Even Dave Mathews Band!
LONG LIVE THE SEGUE. LONG LIVE LONG FORM. LONG LIVE RADIOPARADISE.
Glad you could make the call, I deleted BULLSHIT from my contact list and lost the number. Oh wait...the number I have on this is an 8. Yeah...that works. Long Live RP!!
pass me a scalpel I'll make an incision
cut out the part of your brain that does the bitching
put in formaldehyde put it on a shelf
you can tell all your friends, say "that's my old self"

A great place to learn about music.
If you know, you know.....
Whenever anyone has ever mentioned Bob Seeger, I have this picture in my mind of a guy with a big grin from getting a great kick out of living.
You should see him on his Santa Cruz 52 sailboat. That's a guy lovin' life!

We were blown away at how his show was so much better that the main band.
In the lyrics, I believe that "butt" is misspelled as 'but."
I give it a nine, partly due to that almost painfully funny pun.
Snort! 🤣
he looks so happy in the picture to the left. i love that.
Taken on his farewell tour a couple of years ago.
I used to see a local band in Bristol with a girl singer (in about 1988 ish), who used to do a cover of this song. They were called 'Sell House, Send Half' (a brilliant and memorable name).
and we did respect hers...
Thanks for the memory jog
Great band name, especially for one with a girl singer! 🤣
"They do respect her butt"
*snickers like 10 year old*
Reminds me of the old novelty song, The Freckle Song:
"She's got freckles on her but she is nice."
With a pause in the right place.

You guys remind me of riding the TTC when the Q was about to launch and they had ads claiming "Album Rock". That lasted until they got sued for playing, I believe it was a Springsteen album, as people were recording off the radio.
I got some albums off CHEZ 106 in Ottawa that way one of them being 'Stranger in Town' (I did buy it later on though)

Called a poor man's version of Bruce Springsteen.
Nothing poor about him!

Haha, and they were hella sweet, dude

Nobody can accuse RP of not being diverse...
Dude - I'm from the Big smoke and must be close to the same age as you because I felt the same way

No kidding. Is this a mistake?
Yikes, RP is better than this.
RP is this GOOD. LOL.

Saw this comment in the forum and bounced over here to make sure that this really was in the RP playlist. I would have guessed that "Her Strut" was too embedded in 80s AOR for Bill to play but I've been proven wrong.
It's a good-to-great song if you remember the back-in-day and make your memory-lane trip fairly brief. Definitely one that Tom Cruise as "Top Gun"'s Maverick would have played on the local bar's jukebox. That's not something he could do these days as the Old Guy in the squadron.
I wonder what Rebecca thinks of this song...
It's amazing how much great music is out there that I never knew existed. I'm curious, how do they make it appear as if it's a real DJ playing? he will comment on a specific song occasionally, giving the appearance he's right there in the DJ booth spinning tracks. I wonder if he just randomly picks out songs from the playlist, makes comments then insert it into the program? anyone know?

Is that something you do for recreation?

If this is bullshit, I like then bullshit!
We've got two nights.

zesty ! and a virgin board

I tried to do a search on the band and they don't even exist in Google. Just got a bunch of returns for home sales sites. You would think a few old indie bands from the 1980s would exist somewhere in the depths of the Internet, but I guess not, at least not anymore.
