The the older I get, the more I appreciate Tom Petty.  Not a lot of benefits to growing older, but I do enjoy this particular benefit!

This second effort along with their first were highlights for me. The third polished and hit laden effort was much better produced but except for a few hidden gems was a bit of a letdown for me (I've heard Refugee enough for 5 lifetimes...) I still think the sophomore effort stands out as their best:  Magnolia, I Need to Know, Too Much Ain't Enough, etc.

Night Watchman was a good one too. I was burned out from radio overkill, a friend gifted me a ticket to go see them at the Bowl. So glad I had the chance to see him perform, he died about a week or so later

 I still have it on vinyl.  Great memories spinning this in my 1st apartment..newly found freedom in Redondo Beach.  No longer anyone telling me to turn it down.   !!  {#Smile}marrdcheez wrote:

Great blast from the past!   I was a teenager when this came out, and needless to say, it was a very restless time for me — felt like Tom Petty knew exactly how I felt.

Hmm. If you'd asked me, I'd say sure I like that song. But now hearing it it's not doing so much for me. Good album tho. I think. Maybe I better not listen to it.

This is so weird - I actually dreamed this song last night and woke up still hearing it.  Now, Bill's playing it!  Haven't heard it in a long, long time (I only have it on vinyl), so maybe that's why I was dreaming it.  Anyway, good song - thanks, Bill and Rebecca!
