I got a heart that's busted
Don't want to think about it
I got a letter from you
Don't want to read about it
I got a lot of lonely
Ain't gonna moan about it
I got a trigger finger
Don't wanna think about it
(Don't wanna think about it)
(Don't wanna think about it)
I got a lot of money
Don't wanna spend it all
I got a lot of words
I might just write a song
I got a certain nature
Don't wanna think about it
I got a trigger finger
Don't even ask about it
Change
Never bothered me
When one door slams
Somebody leaves
Change
Never bothered me
When one door slams
Baby, I'm free
(Don't wanna think about it)
(Don't wanna think about it)
I got a nasty habit
That just won't go away
I got a load of trouble
I deal with every day
I got a box of change
Saved up for a rainy day
I got a trigger finger
Don't even talk about it
Change
Never bothered me
When one door slams
Somebody leaves
Change
Never bothered me
When one door slams
Baby, I'm free
(Don't wanna think about it)
(Don't wanna think about it)
I got a busted taillight
I know you all can see
Behind my back you're talking
That shit don't bother me
I got another side
You all should know about it
I got a trigger finger
Don't make me show you 'bout it
Change
Never bothered me
When one door slams
Somebody leaves
Change
Never bothered me
When one door slams
Baby, I'm free
(Don't wanna think about it)

The notes are all in the right places, the melodies all make sense, the song structure is logical, the singing is passable, and yet it is missing that special something which makes it hard to avoid skipping to the next track. This track was followed by Aretha Franklin, which was immediately captivating from the first note. That's what was missing.
Not sure if I like it but I do have this urge to find a lighter, flick it and sway long to the music.
Oh, a new one from Joe Bonamassa, nice.

I think you just encapsulated Bonamassa, generally. Like he's always saving it for another time, another place.
