Beekeeper sing of your frustration
In this litigious breeze
Of accidental pollination
In this era without bees
Without bees, without bees

We keep breeding desperation
In this era of thieves
Who keep stealing respiration
From the tenderest of trees, trees

This peculiar incantation
Sure you heard it before
Instead of breeding desperation
Make me a pallet on your floor
On your floor, on your floor...

This is why I just love RP - I hear music I'd never hear anywhere else - so - thanks Rebecca and Bill

Speaking of Desperation, he was pretty great in the last season of Fargo. Poor Thurman!
so utterly unique
Another nugget from RP.
Thanks again!

I guess I like some self indulgent noodling. Go figure.
Sounds like a song somebody with some talent and a good music education would write. And I'm bored.

Just Perfect!
Love the vibe. Spring is close.
The album is solid from start to finish.

Same here.  Count me addicted.
one of my favorite AB tracks. brilliant player

Absolutely LOVE this
Love everything about this one
Nice song for the GMO/Monsanto era. Buzzes like a swarm of bees. 7.
Had Radio Paradise on all day today (5am to 10pm) and I must say what a FUCKING great station....... I love the choices of music and Bill every now and then ;) AMAZING work Bill and team x
I don't know....this song just kind of drags along and never really does anything.
just went from 8->10
sometimes I get to invest some real attention to a piece after having heard it quite a lot, and so find this Bird song is very sophisticated and amazingly well constructed, cool too

Let's talk about the songs instead of each other.

I was surprised I liked it so much. It was background and then suddenly got my attention. I've heard Bird's name a lot, and this makes me want more.

I still enjoy hearing it when RP plays it.

Been hearing a lot of Bird these days. Good stuff. This is why I love RP, hearing stuff I've never heard before.

Wondered from time to time why no AB on RO
I guess just bad timing on my part. Great to catch this song.
It wasn't until I saw Andrew Bird live that I understood his music. By golly, he's a solo artist, in that he plays as a sort of one-man band.

I believe he opened with this tune (although I might be wrong). So, when you see this played live, by a solo artist, the effect is... Well, it certainly left a beautiful impression on us. We were weeping with joy.
Not when you listen to it on an audio system versus lat's just say a home theatre system.

The music reminds me of Jean-Luc Ponty

This is just the greatest radio station in the world!!!
This is really working for me in all the right ways this afternoon. {#Music}
this is the worst thing ever. it makes me want to stab someone.
I can imagine why some might be bored with this, but I really dig his subtle melodies and interesting arrangements.  Very creative guy and of course I don't mind whistling which is definitely a prerequisite for liking Bird!{#Lol}
makes me wanna drop some acid
Love that hi-fi feed Bill !

Well, perhaps not a nursery, but maybe a nursing home.

I wish his set at Bottlerock was as enjoyable as this... I left a little disappointed......
Agreed. Sublime, smooth and simple.

Nice! I like the atmosphere he's creating in a minimalistic way. Solid 9 for me
Damn good stuff !
This song is just a little bit of magic.
I just hit the PSD button, and Andrew Bird was replaced with "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" by Tom Lehrer.

Like it, like it alot
If you like this, go get some of his other albums.  He has many many other songs that are better than this.
This is quite wonderful....

Just heard him on Daytrotter, which is worth your listening, too.

Another one of those tunes that I practically despised at the beginning....but then it began to win me over. Not too bad at all.
The man's a genius. His sound is totally unique. Mesmerising live.

Really interesting stuff. I love all the sounds he gets out of his violin. I can certainly see why some folks wouldn't enjoy it, but I'm a (minor) fan.

same. i can't figure out why so many people like this drivel. ugh.

Because we are musically literate.
Ephemeral, yet a bit screechy
It feels, well, a bit too stretchy. It is depressing though so perhaps it works. I do not know. Just weird.
Interesting music. He stretches himself. But this track is annoying. Grates on the ears.
I was never much of an Andrew Bird fan, but then I saw him live this summer at the Forecastle Festival. I was kind of blown away by how good he was.
this is so the best song
Annoying!  {#Beat}

I'll second the dull and ignorable bit, though that screeching sliding violin is pretty irritating. Sorry, Andrew, you get the bird from the Nottingham jury. Aural Mogadon {#Sleep}

Ping, ping!? No, not my taste!
Excellent album.

Only a 6.8 average rating...what is wrong with you people? I may have to bump this to a 9. Turn it UP!

Totally agree
The violinist reminds me of Noel Pointer, a jazz violinist from the Philly area, someone I saw several times in the late 70s and much admired. Sadly, Pointer died at a young age. It's nice to hear those tones again.

I'm not a fan of whistling either, but I do really like this. 8
I like this !
So much so that I bought it - given my financial status that means a lot !!
this is the worst!!! ugh.

The intro is worth a 9. Simply lovely.  The whole piece: a 7...  could increase as his work grows on me.. {#Good-vibes}
Fantastic instrumentation and tension.  How fitting to love this song in the spring as our gardens and flowers long for bees.

Give it a try, I enjoyed it much more than his last one (though I liked that one, too). Best of all is to see him live — he's about 10 times better in person.
Yea this album has turned me into an Andrew Bird fan, no doubt. Well played, Sir.{#Cheers}
I agree with Mr. Bond below me, there.
Wow! One of his best yet. {#Music}

I would say this musician is a genius. Reminds me of the experimentation of Radiohead, but more organic & beautiful... melodic. Will give it a 7 for now, but may upgrade to a 9 or 10 depending on how i grows on me.

Andrew is playing at the Pageant Theater in St. Louis sometime this spring. It's on a week night & I live more than an hour from the venue (so I will miss it). Nevertheless,

The barnyard comes to life in this oddly lush and yet frenetic tune. Love it.
I'm a Rabbit, and I can certainly hop to this one.
Relaxing with RP before going to work. Beautiful song. So nice.....

Wasn't a fan of AB - this is changing my mind.
This one I get, its working for me. . .
Wow, this is great. New album seems to be his best yet, this song surely gets me intrigued!
Nice.
