All the creatures, on the beaches
Makin' waves in the motion picture
Won't you keep this, in between us
Search and seizure, wake up venus

The dollar bill will
Return the ill pill
Mom and Dad take your 'dont be sad' pill
Turn the screw and twist my language
Don't forsake me im contagious!

Theres a reason for the twenty-first century...
Not too sure but I know that its meant to be
And that it's meant to be

It's my favorite combination
Comin' down with the favored nations
Deep rotation, mutilation
Learn to give and take dictation
Oh, oh, oh, oh-oh
Like the Cain and Able
Oh, oh, oh, oh-oh
Time to run this table

There's a reason for the 21st Century
Not too sure but I know that's it's meant to be
And that it's meant to be

Read me your scripture and
Read me your scripture
Read me your scripture and
I will twist it
Show me your wrist and I
Show me your wrist and
Show me your wrist and I'll
Kiss it kiss it
Oh, oh, oh, oh-oh
Like the Cain and Able
Oh, oh, oh, oh-oh
It's time to run this table

Simple Soldier, hand it over
Stop and read what you just told her
Strangulation , altercation
Of all the sex and good vibrations

There's a reason for the 21st Century
Not to sure but I know that's it's meant to be
And that it's meant to be yeah

There's a reason for the 21st Century
Not to sure but I know that's it's meant to be
And that it's meant to be

LOL. Probably only you and I know what that is.

My wife encouraged me to attend a local flower festival claiming the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were going to make an appearance. Obviously I was sceptical but it is a very large festival and so I thought what the heck, give it a go. The band who appeared on stage later that day were the Red Hot Chilli PIPERS, a Scottish bagpipe band.
However, all was not lost, the headliners ended up being The Christians, a far superior band to the Chilli Peppers in my opinion.

That is awesome Rob, well maybe not for you I guess. From what I've heard from Red Hot Chili Pipers I really like them. They and other bands like them are right up my alley. Years ago my gf and i were visiting Houston on St. Patrick's Day weekend and heard about a small venue celtic music fest so we went. To my surprise Seven Nations was the headliner.  Greaaat. time ta' be had!

Goodness Gracious Flea, are my eardrums in your way?

Woooooah, that came out of left field. This was my absolute favorite band for most of high school - they're just so solid. This is one of many of their songs to show just how brilliantly Frusciante compliments their legendary rhythm section, and how sorely he is now missed from the band.

This is a voice from the future.. Frusciante returns in 2022.  and there is a new album!

Good tune, but not their best one.
Saw the Peppers at ACL Musicfest a couple/few years ago and thought they sounded fabulous.  Only problem was they quit 20 minutes early...well before the noise ordinance requirement.  Poor showing for the band closing the day.   They must be getting old.

Or "put a sock on it".

August 2005, Atlantic City, they played this song prior releasing Stadium Arcadium and we got to hear it for the first time. Live. Such a vibe and groove! Now I don't get to listen so much to RHCP - probably getting old he-he... but still, this song rocks.

Oh good night nurse!

We love Chilly Willy (You have to imagine Barney with his lighter out as I couldn't figure how to post the pic)

Saw this band at the KROQ Weenie Roast. They headlined and they showed the crowd that they were indeed the headliners. I see a lot of negative comments as usual here on RP. The band was truly great live. Flea is an incredible bass player ... John Frusciante and Chad Smith complete a tight rythem section and John's high harmonies are right on. This band has matured from their early days when they used to play L.A. clubs naked ... well mostly naked. I've seen them boo'd off the stage when they opened for Oingo Boingo back in '84 ... and honestly I wasn't a big fan of theirs back then ... But I'm very impressed with their latest stuff ... it was worth the wait and their live performance is worth the price of a ticket!!!

Hi. The "thing" is, the more listeners, the more mainstream the average music taste gets. Unfortunetaly but consequently that also counts for our beloved RP and its community. I won't blame anyone for not liking any music genre, band or song but I don't think the world gets any better when manifesting these negative "vibes“ in extremely poor ratings.

Let's have a good discussion about the music here in the board that's fine for everyone and respects the music genres (artists) and it's respective lovers.

Cheers from Hamburg / GER. Long live RP!
Stick a sock in it, boys.
Scorching!!
Terrible stuff.

Sad to say just how much II agree.  They were so powerful and original before that.

For me, Mother's Milk was the last good record they made.  Downhill ever since.

With as much sympathy as possible....HAHAHAHAHA !!!  I will say this RHCP tune sounds great with a nice hi-fi system....the 8 rate fits for me...Long Live RP and the PIPERS from the HIGHLANDS!!
Saw the Red Hot Chili Pipers (https://www.rhcp.scot/#) last summer.   They were pretty awesome!

damn! that's some kinda nasty bass. to think that flea couldn't even play when they formed the band.

anyway ,in my opinion RHCP is the most overated rock band ever..i really can'tstand their music !
Would love to hear more Chili on RP, but there are so many much better songs than this one, going back to the mid 80s.

Underwhelming tune from an underwhelming album.  They are great live though, and Flea's entire body is a musical instrument.
Bass sounds like a duck!
Lordy how I hate this band.

No PSD here either. And that's exceptional for this band. Must be the bass
This cover art looks like some K-Tel collections album. Gah!

Hell Yeah, first I've heard anything from this album on RP, maybe even the band.

Happy to post the first post in 8 years also.

originally, didn't feel much for this album (except the guitars); but it's startin to click.
Isn't it interesting how many highly successful bands have singers with less than interesting voices and skills?
a peppers song i like

Speaking of weenie roasts, I like their tube socks.

Guess it is one of those bands that you either love or hate. I am with the former group. Should play "Desecration Smile" off this new CD.
Strong lineup and the rare quality of staying power.
yeah, I was never able to see why this band got taken so seriously...
Flea's bass lines are always interesting...groovy indeed.
I'm lovin this new RCHP!! Gotta go out and get me some!
Yeah! Unbelievably funky groove there.

I don't think the term "Has Been" has any real meaning. If you have talent and create good work you can be a respected musician till 100 years old. The problem with this band is that they aren't that good (do they ever have a different sound...ever?) and ran out of ideas/inspiration a long time ago.
By "has been", I meant they suck. You're correct, sir.
do they know that metrinomes have different settings, garage band has better riffs, and lyrics are available from talented song writers

Go, Anthony, go! --anywhere. anywhere but RP.
Go, Flea, go--on the bass!!!
This album is proving to be mediocre....still thinking that the title track is the strongest one I have heard so far.
Is the record company paying for the airplay? C'mon! These guys are has-beens.
This is a surprisingly good followup to the Rusted Root-ish John Butler Trio.
I wanna be Anthony Keidis's B*tch
Amazing segue out of the John Butler Trio tune. Nicely done
Now play something similarly funky by Joe Jackson.
