Don't see me
In your eyes anymore
Oh why can't I
Make them shine like before

I don't see you
Or your heart in your kiss
That you should say
That you're mine
You resist

There was a time
Life was fine
Love was ecstasy
But now I doubt
What the outcome will be

I pray you'll say
I'm the one you adore
Then I'll see me
In your eyes as before

(There was a time

There was a time
There was a time)

There was a time
Life was fine
Love was ecstasy
But now I doubt
What the outcome will be

I pray you'll say
I'm the one you adore
Then I'll see me
In your eyes as before

There was a time
Life was fine
Love was ecstasy
But now I doubt
What the outcome will be

Huey does a great radio show on 6 Music here in the uk.
What a dude.
Everyone who likes this needs to listen to the self-titled song "The Fun Loving Criminal"on the album Come Find Yourself.  I found it on Apple Music of all places and was psyched when I saw Bill playing them here. I had always hoped he would have someday dug up Fun Loving Criminal but this is good also! Seriously, check it out, it's a great rap tune and I really dislike rap.
I'm just, I'm just Jenny from the block....
The vocal sample is;
I Don't See Me in Your Eyes Anymore by Wilma Burgess (1969)
I keep hearing the hook from "Jenny from the block".... in a bad way....
Alternative rockhip hopjazz rappunk rockfunkbluesmafioso rap Quite the list of genre's in the Wiki article, Jazz rap caught my eye first, then Mafioso rap really has me curious;  maybe I'll venture to the webs in search of some examples!

I think I've had this rated at a 9 from the get-go - definitely my style of smooth vibe.

Long Live RP and all the Mafioso rappers out there!!
Smoothie and I love them

That's why I tune in, that's why I donate

A lot of great songs by great bands...
Ive been revisiting a few bands that I haven't listened to in a long time using Spotify, so I use Spotify's play count rating to easily find the gems I liked... BUT
More often than not, the songs I was playing the most myself are NOT the most popular songs for most listeners, and it's easy to forget that...

One is the Fun Lovin' Criminals - We Are All Very Worried About You
A melancholic, snazzy jazzy TRIPPED-Hop  cut which sounds still up to date

Check it out!
More FLC! Schmoove!

Pretty groovy. Just a little too long for a simple tune.
Four and a half minutes is too long?

Making my desk vibrate!
... and 9 months later I find myself duplicating the comment. Sonos Play:5 at only 1/2 volume!
Nice choice from FLC catalog. Thanks RP. Stay classy!
Pretty groovy. Just a little too long for a simple tune.
Finally, some FLC, even if its not their groove rap. Still grateful!
it's just soo good ....
This is quite nice, but COMPLETELY different from Come Find Yourself (which I also really like), that sounded more like a soundtrack for a Reservoir Dogs sequel.
Hmmm, nice chill groove but the parts with the vocals make me feel like I'm picking up two different radio stations at once.  It just clashes for me.

Wow, that's shmoove! RP just gets perfecter and perfecter!
I love me some FLC.  Too bad my copy of Come Find Yourself was stolen, or I'd try uploading some.  They've got some great groves and unique tracks.
Alaways loved the song "Scooby Snacks" by these guys.
Wow FLC twice in one day, and I'd never heard of them before I heard them doin Crazy Train earlier today; a little number screaming for my comment

That's really funny. . . While I'd never put this in a 'trance' box, the thought of you going to hear some more Fun Lovin' Criminals and wanting some downbeat chill tickles my funny bone.

But I still won't support him, and I still despise Tipper for the PMRC and that Philistine, reactionary sticker. Like, who gives a shit?

Thank you for this piece of information - it's quite scary how some people try to get power and in the name of freedom, how they end up willing to invade privacy and personal choices.

I love fun lovin criminals !

Ok, so scary wife of scary politician aside, did anyone else see that a "randomprime" commented on a comment by a "lurkingvariable"? Just a little strange, if you ask me.

VERY NICE
NICE!

Yeah, that reminds me of Tipper Gore (wife of Al) who spearheaded the PMRC that fought for the warning stickers. Given the way her kid turned out, maybe we ought not be taking parenting advice from her? (bracing for the fallout)

During the 2000 presidential race, Ozzie Osbourne, in a fit of high dudgeon, made a radio advertisement that asked, without mentioning names, whether you wanted in the White House the kind of people who would censor rock and roll.  I heard it on KLBJ in Austin two or three times.  Then, poof, it was gone.  Somebody must have tipped Ozzie off to whom he was actually referring.

THIS SONG HELPED PUSH MY WEB RESEARCH DRUDGERY ALONG.  THANKS.
So good. Got me to login and post a comment. Love the flow.
Smooth grooves capped off with cool guitar pickings and sultry moans, who else but the FLC?
Love FLC - more needed for me

I find it odd to make it a priority to shelter children from curse words
and yet allow advertisements to join the military

I'll give you the Internet thing but we didn't get the Blackberry until McCain invented it.   That's fresh new generation 2.0 thinking right there!!!

And what has Obama invented?  Zilch.

Mind you, his dad, Jor-el of Krypton, was supposedly a pretty handy guy when it came to inventions.  So there's still hope for Obama.

No, it isn't. This track is the odd one out on the album. The rest is more typical FLC fare.

Apparently these criminals are not only fun-lovin', but fun-hoardin'. They've kept it all for themselves and left not a drop in this song.

Something indeed sounds odd here. I can't quite place it (the timing?), but I don't like it.

Awesome segue. Flaming Lips tune into this FLCriminals groove. 10 to the DJ.

never really heard this band before.... good stuff i like it
lalalalalala, a great tune to roll to
did i said already that these guys were one of the greatest "funky-groovy-..." bands?? you must see them live...unbelievable:-)
Beautiful.
Most of their stuff does tend to have a laidback sound to it... There is an even more mellow remix album they did too... Good rock/rap too (if you want to call it rap) from a latin background. In some ways a bit like G.Love though he's heavier on the blues. Or Los Lobos. More hip-hop influenced and dopey... ;)
One of the bandmembers told his grandmother the band's name is The Fun Lovin' Christians, so she wouldn't be too worried
ditto -- i saw them open for U2 also (man... was that 8 years ago already?) and i would never have attributed a funky groove like this to the "scooby snack" guys... i really really like this vibe.
