Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something

Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused

(Ooh) Hey, hey
(Ooh) Ah-ha-oh

Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something

This needs some minor tweaks:

Sweet dreams are made of cheese
Who am I to diss a Brie
I travel the world in a Feta cheese
Everybody's looking for Stilton

Some cheese wants to be Bleu, too
Some cheese wants to be Buchette d'Anjou
Some cheese wants to be cubed
Some cheese will be braided by you

Sweet dreams are made of cheese
Colby or Chevre, if you please
I ferment the milk and then I squeeze
Everybody needs penicillium

Mold is better, on the rind
Mold is better, leaves taste behind
Mold is better, cheese is confined
Mold is better, use my enzymes

Some cheese ought to be grated
No cheese should be ammoniated
Some cheese will always be hated
No cheese wants to be called rancid

Sweet dreams are made of cheese
Casein and rennet curdle it with ease
Whey from the curds it eventually frees
The best cheese comes from Wisconsin

Had the pleasure of seeing the Eurythmics live at Hammersmith in London as they were touring this album. Annie totally dominated the stage and captivated us all. Never seen anyone so bewitching.

Some of them want Maredsous

Some of them want the Remoudou

Some of them want a Geitost

Some of them want the Danish Blue

The synth bassline reminds me of the soundtrack of the Lazy Jones game for the Commodore 64 (and other computers) from the 80s. The soundtrack contains a lot of references to songs from the 80s: 99 luftbalons by Nena, Fade to Gray by Visage and others. In turn, the main tune from Zombie Nation's Kernkraft 400 from 1999 was taken from this game! Lazy Jones soundtrack
A Goddesslike 10 for Annie.

I like ALL of those tunes!!  ...Play 'em all!!
Maybe overplayed, but for good reasons.
Under appreciated album. Fantastic mix of songs.
Possibly the only Eurhythmics song I like (but I like it).
I better enjoyed Dave Stewart's first two solo albums.
This song is better than it has any right to be. Repetitive and simple, but it hit the formula exactly. Simultaneously set the stage and raised the bar for acts like The Ting-Tings and Sofi Tukker.

Me too at the Kingswood Music Theatre 1984. Might have been the best sound I ever heard especially just Annie Dave and his guitar for a good chunk of the show.
One of the rare songs that should be above 10
GODLIKE!!! ICONIC!!! Overplayed on the radio. But, better NOW in FLAC  w/ great studio phones, amp & DAC!  Thanx RP!

Yes. I did worry about implying that. I've edited the post.

They were better live. Kingswood 1984.

PSD, Baybee!
Past me, appears to have rated this as a 10. Past me knew what he was talking about.
Great segue from Future Islands song! Niiice!
This was my first tape (I got a few 45's later, but it was this and a few months later The Pointer Sisters Break Out, IIRC).

Annie Lennox has a wonderful voice. I wonder if she was trained classically, because she uses her voice like an opera singer. I don't always like everything the Eurythmics produced, but this is a classic.

Yes, she is classically trained :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. I think Lennox is great but boy do I abhor Eurythmics music. It would be interesting to hear this song without the synths.
Oh god, please no. Not again. Not ever again.

nice thought
without Annie there would be no Eurythmics
this classic always satisfies.
Timeless
It's a very, very well-built song. Tight beats, interesting synth sounds (this may be the first time listening to it with decent-quality headphones and not over lousy speakers), crisp vocal harmonies.

I just wish it hadn't been overplayed to death on commercial radio.

If you like the rhythmic synths, you're gonna love this. Especially when you're into retro gaming :-)
This follows Future Islands really, really well.

Impressive DJ-ing.
Great to not hear the radio edit.
I was at the concert in 1987. Nice memory
80ies classic! {#Cool}

And Manson is too 90s lameness.

Sounds like a personal problem there, mate!
And not one that I share.
You can go ahead and get over it at ANY time.   ;-)
According to Joe Jackson's memoir, "A Cure for Gravity," Annie Lennox and Sir Simon Rattle were both in his graduating class in 1974. She studied harpsichord, flute, and piano. Jackson's degree was in percussion—tho' he played both piano and sax. Rattle won the award for conducting.

It's a good thing I checked this forum to see what remix of the song this was. I was just about to yell at my dogs when I heard the "tinkle". I thought for sure they were getting into trouble in the next room. Emma and Hudson thank all the RP listeners!
Please stop playing this song.

Tinkle bells. Somebody forgot the cow bells at the summer home.
So junior high school...
Always loved Annie Lennox's voice. I'm ok with this version, different but it's ok.
Yes!
I think I'd prefer the original. This one is a little too "peppy" for my taste.

Ha! You're kidding! Never thought I'd hear this one in this forum. Hehe... "classic", I suppose, but aging gracefully.

Nope, this is not what got airplay when the song was first released. Trust a child of the 80s. My one tiny complaint about RP is that alternate mixes of songs aren't identified as such and the album that the original studio mix appeared on is usually listed instead of the actual source. Otherwise, love RP! ...and the Eurythmics.
