But some folks are anxious to rewrite a story not for its accuracy, but for their agenda. For instance, Bert & Ernie aren’t gay; they’re a reference to Neil Simon’s “Odd Couple.” But younger people don’t know that play/movie/show so they reframe it into their references and…they’re gay. Drives me crazy, not that they could be gay, but the inaccurate reframing.
