It's possible that AI caused it, in an indirect way.
I read somewhere that the dead bloke bought up an AI outfit which had developed a product that developed recommendations about when to release patients from hospital, or whether or not to honour claims made etc...and that employees had been directed not to deviate from the recommendations by more than 1%....my guess is that the shooter may have had a relative booted from hospital too soon, or denied on an insurance claim or something, who later pegged out, creating the big axe to grind....we may never know but; it's a guess as to motive.

You must actually care or you wouldn't be here.
After all, what's the point in antagonizing or sparking fear and anxiety? Sustenance?
I think you're justifiably anxious if not angry at how it all seems so loose and without broad outrage. I get it.

Likely you're past experiences in life have driven a wedge in your heart, but trust me. God is calling. I say that with the most weight of emotion I can summon with no judgment whatsoever. Build bridges. Don't burn them down, The road is wide but the gate is narrow. Time? It is. Aim true to your heart. Find God in the apple.

It's not a switch. Think sublime consciousness; and turn off your divisors. No matter what happens, fear not what can kill the body but not the soul. Have courage my friend. Ultimately you can't feed or protect the flock by leading them to desolation. Project love with all the heart you can summon.
Christ explains it better than I. Search. Seek earnestly. Ask.

Mmmmm.....I think the words were something like 'Time to get back to God, folks!'.
It's hard to convey the facetious tone that they carried at the time, but IIRC that should be the response, more or less.

No worries, mate....backbends on the yoga mat and a frequent reliance on something bigger than me for my own personal safety mean that generally The Big Guy and I are ok.
Thanks though for the concern and kumbaya, and all.
What was it...amygdala, ayourdala or something?
No matter; build bridges....now there's an idea.

I first came here around 2004, left for awhile because of living where there was no internet (what a time that was...), and came back with a different name, only to find the place had changed and wrongthink was no longer tolerated.
'Who the fuck is Jiggz and why do we give him any bandwidth?'
Questions about 2020 election?
Bombs away!
Questions about Biden's mental capacity?
Bombs away!

Right....building bridges.

About those bridges.

I can do that.
However, I am neither a Communist nor Socialist.
I am generally just a common-sense bloke who has learned to actually see what I see, pretty mellow about 95% of the time, awake but not woke.

I got a bit grungy when I was told by the credentialled-class, who were still earning my tax bucks whilst doing fuckall, that I was non-essential.
I got a bit more grungy when I found out that saying anything contrary to the narrative-of-the-day reaped much scorn and derision on many fronts, not least of which happened here.
I got mad when I was told that I could only qualify for any assistance from a lifetime of taxes paid if I gave away more than 50% of my business to someone who need contribute nothing but skin colour or mental illness.
Fuck your neo-Marxist identity politics.

But I am pretty much over that now...and happy to build bridges, mate.

I still have questions about 2020, which will no doubt be answered in time.

Your gall at suggesting the building of bridges should happen just off the bat like that....gimme a moment....I will need it.
But go ahead meantime and make the first move?

Pretty sure he's never going to see a courtroom.

yeah to non-shitpost for a second, I have close friends that this has happened to and it's extremely tragic. mid-20s mental onset illness in young men is A Thing, and it's really fucking scary and sad. people who loved him are probably agonizing over if only they had done something.

So with the naming of the suspect... he's apparently a friend of a friend of my daughter.  The connection is a fraternity at Penn.  According to the rumor mill... his anger at healthcare goes back to a back injury in college.

All of that rumor... from people who have pictures with him still on their phones.

That's 2 connections to the news in a few weeks... none of it good.

With silent cheers from a frustrated and voiceless America, he will likely tell his story at trial.  A martyr for an abusive industry grown out of control? We do so love our David and Goliath stories.
CEO's will cringe as this unfolds.  Scrutiny of meritocracy law enforcement will be a second ripple. Media owners will attempt to minimize and omit information; but it will be hard to contain the interest.

I would argue a different cause/effect chain there. But you're entitled to your interpretation. I'm saying it's tragic, but an outcome of a tragic comedy we are all living through. The events of this tragic comedy seem to have been put into motion by the victim himself.  I'm guessing, based on the numerous other people's opinions here, we still don't really know - another part of this tragedy is that there are so many possible / likely motives that are all perfectly conceivable.

We have just had an election won by people who happily espouse violence against their enemies and happily call for vengeance and retribution. Are you really surprised that the other side is finally saying "fine". People have been calling for change in approach from the dems for a while, well here's change.

We live in foreboding times.  Permission has been granted to act out in ways unacceptable not that long ago, to say & do previously unspeakable things, announced to all on the world wide web.  The greatness of America is shrouded in dark shadows & no baseball cap slogan is going to bring it back anytime soon.
