Luksusowa is my fave. Actual potato vodka. From Poland. And not expensive.
years ago i used to have a polish neighbor that turned me on to this i'm not a big drinker and i usually prefer cold beer stronger stuff? scotch would be my choice however, i'm not above something frozen at the beach either i just can't handle the super sugary stuff
i've read that japanese distilleries make high quality products too
like this (whisky and check the spirits tab too)
I have had a couple of Suntory whiskys and they taste expensive. Good, but I didn't go crazy enough for it to consider spending that much. Would enjoy another taste tho.
I was under the impression that there are trade agreements with regard to certain liquors, that they MUST be produced in a specific location. Bourbon in Kentucky, Tequila in Mexico, Scotch in Scotland, etc. Not sure about Vodka, but in any case there are no restrictions on ownership location. Or consumption.
Without looking it up, I'm going to say no, for the most part in the spirits industry those are gentlemen's agreements. Jack Daniels might have enough corn to call itself bourbon, but they don't. But when a distiller from Maker's Mark gets hired away to Wyoming, they still call his stuff bourbon.
Scotch is different because the very name of it says it's from Scotland, much like scotch tape.

Virginiaâs ABC sent out an email about pulling the Russian brands. They listed them, and noted that Smirnoff and Stoli arenât strictly Russian and so arenât included in the boycott.
