If any of you are needing inspiration, I really recommend watching today's Oprah, her very final show. She will remind you of why you are here. No guests, no giveaways. Just the truth.

Take a look around. Lust, gluttony, greed, sloth and despair, wrath, envy, pride and vanity... it's all around us... and within us. Hatred is winning. Believe in Christ, or not... virtues are just writings on walls... and walls are ephemeral things riddled with cracks and pockmarks of unlearned lessons.

Shadow and Light By Rumi How does a part of the world leave the world?
How does wetness leave water? Dont' try to put out fire by throwing on more fire! Don't wash a wound with blood. No matter how fast you run, your shadow keeps up. Sometimes it's in front! Only full overhead sun diminishes your shadow. But that shadow has been serving you. What hurts you, blesses you. Darkness is your candle. Your boundaries are your quest. I could explain this, but it will break the glass cover on your heart, and there's no fixing that. You must have shadow and light source both. Listen, and lay your head under the tree of awe. When from that tree feathers and wings sprout on you, be quieter than a dove. Don't even open your mouth for even a coo.

I first became interested in the Tao Te Ching when I was 17 years old. I've studied and tried to understand and practice it for over 30 years. As I get older it's meanings shift; as understanding is acquired. I still fail to fully grasp all of it's nuances... and yet it is easy to understand and practice... still, ego is a hard thing to overcome. "My words are easy to understand and easy to perform, Yet no man under heaven knows them or practices them. My words have ancient beginnings. My actions are disciplined. Because men do not understand, they have no knowledge of me. Those that know me are few; Those that abuse me are honored. Therefore the sage wears rough clothing and holds the jewel in his heart." ~ Lao Tzu

You should look into the quack's legacy sometime. You'll be surprised. I know that in some capacity you yourself have been reaping the benefits. So is it all for naught then . . . ?
