In a just world he would go from the Bodeans "Fadeaway" to either Bonnie Raitt or Del Shannon doing "Runaway".

Sometimes the segue's so sweet it demands you play the song even if it's that one.

The bongo-type percussion at the end of Nick Drake's "Cello Song" into the opening bongo percussion of Indigo Girls' "Galileo"

Me, too, but what with all the Van Halen / Blondie segues I was trying to work out, I don't think I would have gotten those two in the same batch

I'm sure JD and Ramones were played together at several college radio stations in the 80s and I'm sure I did that myself, but I sincerely doubt I would have done it as a deliberate segue pairing...

& you sure as sh*t werent getting any Donna played along with it.... my brother used to make such fun of my Donna love.

The things they have in common: New York City, Late 70s. But I always pictured the Ramones were a response/antidote to studio creations like Donna, like Queen, like most of what was huge in 1977. But mostly it's Bill reminding us that Ramones, Donna Summer, and Joy Division all were making music history at essentially the same time. Yet you'd never have heard any 2 of them deliberately put together anywhere until today, on RP.

Definitely not on any radio stations in the late '70s, but I had that Donna Summer single back then, so at home or at someone else's house I may have heard something from the first two Ramones albums within an hour of hearing that tune.
