I met my wife as we came out of an E.O. Wilson lecture that was open to the public, in Lecture Hall D of the Science Building at Harvard (which famously looks like a Kodak camera pointing up). The security guard had looked her over: obviously not a student, he felt that her Eddie Bower jacket and hiking boots meant “radical feminist” waiting to protest Wilson having said something about female ants. He said she couldn't go in. She said that she was just into bugs, and he believed her.
