Does the time stop when his head hits the ground? Because it seems like an unfair advantage when you get thrown that high.

The pattern on the clown's pants almost makes it look like snot dripping from the bull's nose. Is that bull trying to square up a kick with that side eye stare?

Hey, back off, it was just a one time thing. Usually we’re all driving our little coolers around town. People come from miles around in the summer just to participate in the cooler races to win a stuffed coyote. We get so excited we have nightmares about it, so give us a break.

NOVEMBER 30
■ 6:29 a.m. A person on Hamilton Way was reported to be yelling and making a lot of noise since about 5 a.m. Officers contacted the subject, who said they had been having a lot of nightmares lately but everything was OK.

■ 7:47 a.m. An officer checked with someone riding a motorized cooler on the sidewalk at North Bent/ East Fifth streets. The individual received a warning for riding the cooler on the street.

■8:18a.m. A resident on North Absaroka Street reported finding an item under their vehicle so bizarre they couldn’t even describe it. A responding officer advised it appeared to be a stuffed animal wrapped in a coyote hide, and the item was placed in lost and found.

That's a good question. She's usually on the sidewalk but sometimes I see her in the street, so I suspect it was more of an agglomeration of episodes rather than just that particular day that got her a talking-to.

Collins unseats Mayor Smith; 'progressive ticket' sweeps Helena City Commission

Wilmot Collins, right, and Andres Halladay, left, rejoice after election results were announced Tuesday night.

Wilmot Collins will be Helena’s new mayor, unseating incumbent Jim Smith in a close race Tuesday.
Collins, 54, will be the city's first new mayor in 16 years after running a long campaign based in progressive principles.

Some background: a year or so back the Helena city government, in a reaction to a refugee resettlement movement that was getting started there, announced it would not cooperate and opposed any effort to resettle refugees there. The new mayor (that's him on the right, above) is a Liberian refugee.

He's also the first black mayor in Montana history.

Edit: OK, he's not the first, but the first in a long time.
