From the "Who Could make This Sh!t Up" Dept.:

White House gate crasher to run for Va governor

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — White House gate crasher Tareq Salahi says he will run for governor of Virginia.

...

Salahi and his wife, Michaele, created concern about the Secret Service's effectiveness when they showed up uninvited at a White House state dinner in 2009, and were able to meet President Barack Obama. The notoriety landed Michaele a role in the reality television series "Real Housewives of D.C.," which was canceled after one season.

In more attention grabbing last year, Tareq Salahi reported that his wife had been abducted. But she had actually run off with Neal Schon, the lead guitarist for Journey. A $50 million lawsuit Tareq filed against Michaele over the breakup was dismissed.

EDIT: I think John Irving's world has come true. Or maybe he's been writing about reality all of these years. What with political correctness run amok and other bizarre, upside-down-world occurrences, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ellen Jamesians listened to RP!

Fecal Transplant May Treat Stubborn C. diff

Oct. 31, 2011 — It may sound gross, but using fecal transplants can treat stubborn intestinal infections caused by the bug Clostridium difficile(C. diff).

As the name implies, fecal transplant involves taking the stool of a healthy person and putting it into the colon of an infected person. The goal is to restore the natural balance of good and bad bugs in the gut and eliminate the bothersome diarrhea.

"Ick" factor aside, it works, a new study suggests. "Fecal transplantation is a highly effective, well tolerated, and safe form of therapy for this traditionally difficult infection, " study researcher Lawrence Brandt, MD, emeritus, chief of gastroenterology at Montefiore Medical Center, tells WebMD.

His team found that 91% of 77 patients who received the transplants got rid of their diarrhea, sometimes within three days, after one treatment.

The research is being presented at this week's American College of Gastroenterology's annual scientific meeting in Washington, D. C.

The procedure is technically called fecal microbiota therapy (FMT).

Slightly less disgusting than miamiz's post (but only just), Mrs. Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce. After 72 days of wedded bliss. Good thing the sanctity of marriage is still intact, huh? Can't have them pesky homersexals denigrating a sacred institution, right?

What a batch of scumbags those people are.

Indian man has hysterectomy after doctors find uterus
The Indian man, identified as Ryalu, was admitted to a hospital near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, after complaining of severe stomach pains.

Doctors suspected a normal hernia, but when they carried out an exploratory operation they were shocked to discover it had been caused by a female uterus, ovaries, Fallopian tubes, a cervix and underdeveloped vaginal tissue.

Dr Pramod Kumar Shrivastava, a surgeon at the Chhindwara district hospital said the patient had external male organs, was fit from working in the fields, and lived a normal life.

"Usually the contents of the Hernia Sac are abdomen organs like large intestines and small intestines but when we operated on the patient we were surprised to find female reproductive organs. We have removed the organs through a hysterectomy and repaired the hernia.
