That's not censorship. That's legitimate protection of Google's brand and business model for the advertisers. They didn't take down the site or anything.

One could argue that such a brand/business model itself induces self-censorship (if you want our money/business/work this is what you need to (not) do), but then again they've agreed to sign up to get revenue from Google.

There are different types of censorship, aside from total prohibition.

Some advertisers might object to being "associated" with such content, others might not. Could depend on what they're selling.

Interestingly, according to comments at the site in question, the same content that is objected to appears on other, much larger news sites, along with their ads.

I so seldom use the built-ins on my laptop (blue painters' tape usually covering lens) or tablet that I hadn't paid attention to that - makes sense now.

Why is it that all of the images seem to be reversed (i.e., mirror images)?

Lorem Ipsum: Of Good & Evil, Google & China

Interesting read from Brian Krebs regarding Google Translate

"Imagine discovering a secret language spoken only online by a knowledgeable and learned few. Over a period of weeks, as you begin to tease out the meaning of this curious tongue and ponder its purpose, the language appears to shift in subtle but fantastic ways, remaking itself daily before your eyes. And just when you are poised to share your findings with the rest of the world, the entire thing vanishes..."
