Dogfish Head Brewery is using their facility to make hand sanitizer. Dogfish Head will sell the sanitizer to the state of Delaware at market price, and 100% of the profits will go into a fund to support Delawareans affected by the coronavirus.

If you're looking for a silver lining...a lot of the better brewers in New England are selling kegs to the public (since bars are closed). If only I had a place to put them...
I feel asleep on the couch last night. Woke up and stepped on my glasses. Broke them. The eye glass store in a nearby city is closed, thanks to the C-19 virus. Must make do with graduated, distance glasses.
This feels like a serious 1st world problem.
Here in our village of 1,500 souls, the grocery store is selling out of all kinds of things. The panic is audible.
Now you can't remember what you just posted below? Doesn't this put money first? You know, because these announcements cause the stock prices to drop?
i know many can give a s#$t about the financial markets, but these major news announcements should be moved to non-trading hours.
No. Cuomo announced 100% of non-essential workers to stay at home, effective Sunday. If he felt that needed to be effective immediately, then by all means announce it immediately, but in this situation he could have waited to 4:00.
p.s., i agree with the measure. We've already headed down this path, so lets not do it half assed. i remarked yesterday that i noticed parking lots near my office were still mostly full...people still going to their office instead of working from home. and i'll call out charter communications, a telecom company, for forcing employees to report to work.
those responses are a bit obtuse. if coordinating communication can alleviate already volatile financial markets, why wouldnt we implement that? at least half the country have invested their hard earned savings, and a good percent others rely on a pension system that invests in these same assets.
Maybe they could cut back on trading in a volatile market during an on-going epidemic. Or realize that owning stocks doesn't always mean a windfall. You know, risk.
Money before lives is a messed up mindset. Is that plain enough for you?
Now you're being dense. Where the exactly did i put money ahead of lives? protect lives first...of course. but lets try to minimize the reckless behaviors.

Governor Cuomo just shut down the State of New York with surrounding states expect to follow suit. No more fooling around.
the gov has to do a better job timing these announcements. i know many can give a s#$t about the financial markets, but these major news announcements should be moved to non-trading hours.
If they do that, people will complain that individual investors are disadvantaged compared to institutional investors who can execute in the futures markets and can trade at the open more quickly.
The timing today happened to coincide with the Thank You Donald Variety Hour...where we talk about how closing the borders has saved us from genocide (Americans), that States need to fend for themselves (the Federal Government isn't made up of shipping clerks you know), and where to assess blame the virus is referred to only by geography (thanks for nothing China). Today had a special guest, the lovely and negatively tested Ivanka!
individual can participate in after hours trading....regardless, the vast majority of volume occurs during the trading session

My whole point was Trump is absolutely irrelevant and so is anyone else for that matter. You can keep dwelling on that or facing the future. I could give a rat's ass what Trump does or doesn't do, he is responsible for the rest of the world's outbreak as well? Your obsession with Trump, politics and the government does not serve you or anyone else well in true crisis situations, but you go ahead and dwell on that I have much more important things on my mind.
You have much more important things on your mind, huh? Like fantasizing about chaos and shootouts and loosened gun laws that will teach those awful Democrats a real lesson!
Trump's NOT irrelevant as long as his supporters rely on him and his toadies for coronavirus information. Maybe you've not been paying attention but Trump until last Friday dismissed and downplayed coronavirus. That let the crisis seriously mushroom. He's still spewing misinformation and is hampering fiscal bailout negotiations.
My "obsession" with Trump and the federal government is based on reality: the federal government HAS to make massive efforts to inform and help people, medically and financially. If Trump's incompetence leads to bad federal action, we're seriously screwed.
But you keep on thinking on getting guns to solve this crisis. That'll work out just fine!
What Coronavirus? Trump Campaign Plows Ahead Online With Talk of âWINNING Like Never Beforeâ
If Mr. Trump has used appearances in the White House briefing room this week to warn about the seriousness of the spreading coronavirus, the Trump campaignâs wide-reaching digital arm has mostly charged forward in email communications with supporters as if it were still operating in a virus-free world.
...
So far Mr. Trumpâs campaign stands alone in trying to create his own virtual reality, mostly ignoring the virus (with the exception of one email and text message a week ago linking to C.D.C. guidance), belittling Democrats and bashing the media even as the outbreak has upended almost every facet of American life.
Some public health officials said that, given the partisan divide on how seriously Americans are taking the virus threat, Mr. Trump could have made an impact with more and earlier messages, including to his extensive email list, encouraging people to stay home and practice social distancing.
...
In an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll last week, more than two-thirds of Democrats worried an immediate family member would catch the coronavirus, compared to only 40 percent of Republicans.
...
The frequency of Trump campaign emails has slowed in recent days. But the tenor has remained the same: The campaign has hawked a signed âKeep America Greatâ hat, sold âTrump Luck of the Irish Whiskey Glassesâ for St. Patrickâs Day and offered an exclusive âgold cardâ membership for donors of $35 and up. One email on Wednesday bragged about ârecord-lowâ unemployment figures, as administration officials raced to stave off a massive hike in joblessness. On Thursday, Mr. Trumpâs campaign asked the âpatriotsâ on his list to hit a âMASSIVEâ $2 million fund-raising goal.
