I did. I did. I care enough about RP to voice my frustration about what I find problematic. Half the music I have in my offline music collection is due to RP. And I keep finding amazing artists in all sorts of genre "in English" in RP. If I wasn't open to RP introducing me to new music, I would have just left and not start a tread about what I do not like. Peace.
The point is that music is it's own language. I get where you're coming from. You want to understand the words; the lyrics. You want them to speak to you in a way that you can relate to. I get that. But music in and of itself is an emotional relationship. The more complex forms speak with emotions and without words entirely. Sonic ars poetica. At once subtle, then perhaps not so much. It's all in there. You can't just reduce it to words though I realize one could listen to the most beautiful music ever produced (subjectively) and hate it for the conglomeration of words or subject matter constituting the song or motif. If you can remove yourself from the equation entirely and try to inhabit where the artist is coming from, perhaps even find a translation to that Swahili song, you might grow into a greater awareness. If everyone could do that then we become...rather than decay. That's what peace is, isn't it? The sharing of this brief time we get to share the same sky together? Or am I just being a flower in a gun barrel?
I am talking about language. I stream RP pretty much all the time I am at my computer, which is always. And I have to mute it every time something in some African language, something in some Indian language comes up. Why must something as beautiful as RP must make me suffer through this? Can't there be a "English & instrumental" channel? Sure, throw in a few songs a day in french or what not. But maybe that's about it?
The special thing about RadioParadise is the breadth of what is played. If hearing something unfamiliar causes conflict in your head, then what is the reason for that resistance, instead of acceptance?
Or maybe try opening your mind to the real beauty of RP and perhaps come to appreciate new & beautiful music from cultures around our world. It really can be quite exhilarating.

Count your blessings. I remember when Enya was sort of cool to listen to, and when she got popular, she wrote more songs in English. Oh, god, those lyrics are horrible. Are the Irish lyrics that bad? I'll have to assume they are.
Since English is so important to you it might be a good thing to edit the second to listen from the title of the thread....
Nah, it isn't. Being able to comprehend it is more important. You did understand what I said in spite of (listen to)x2. Edited.
Funny thing. I am Indian. My mother tongue is Bengali. And after being in US for 20+ years, English is my first language. I also blame it on the British influence of India. It might blow your mind, but I understand very little of Hindi. Swahili even less

I don't think so. Wrong? In what sense? It's a purely subjective thing. You like what you like and otherwise. I'm not that interested to listen to the screaming satanic acid toilet metal or the brown skinned Cinderella Inuit crooners Bill plays all the time. The thinly sliced cheese sampled pablum rapper gruel coming out of deep sea ice radio is interesting but I wouldn't want to be trapped at a garden party with it. I hear what you're saying. However, if you are objectively hating in general of sources so called foreign and looking for encouragement and support from music lovers around these parts you probably won't get much sympathy. Anyhow that's my short answer. Sometimes you just have to get your Swahili on. That's life. That's learning. That's awareness. Til then, just say no to hatred, and rock the cinder blocks! Catfish?
