A call from the vet asking for a small portfolio of photos of India because he has some leads on a new home for her. It was so hard to look through the photos knowing why I was looking. It's going to hurt like hell to give her away.

Be there for her. already did (except the "life goes on" stuff, which i think is insensitive), as that is what she said to me. she said "this is just where i'm supposed to be right now, i'm sad but i'll be ok." yes, as you said and as you know, even though i'm sure you yourself haven't been there in a long time, much easier said than done. i've been there, and she was there for me. it's my turn to return the favor.

Manbird wrote: It's the same injury as before - I guess the vet was wrong when she said India was completely healed - looks broken again to me. I'm taking her in to get it checked out later today. As a General Falconer, I can keep 2 raptors, so I there's no big rush to find a place for her. I can still acquire another bird to hunt with and keep her as long as I need to to make sure she goes to the best home I can find for her. The vet I take her to runs an org. called Bird of Prey Foundation and I think they rehab and place birds that have been injured. I'm so sad for India, though.
oh, r. that IS sad.
