What Pinterest is Doing That Facebook Isn't

Pinterest is growing fast, and 80% of the site's users are women ages 25-44.

Gee who would have thought that the real raison d'être for Facebook was to be a commercial enterprise and make oodles of money.

I'm with you on that score.  I worked for Northwest Airlines in the '70s and four years with a company that completely screwed me in the early '90's.  Self-employed since.  I don't even have a résumé.

This has not freed me from stress, and as long as my meds are reasonably in balance, I have few 3AM (or 3PM) panic attacks.  I work in a quickly attritting field, and on its way to death—retail travel.  Thank TFSM I have other income.  Just about qualify for food stamps as it is.  But I don't have to say yes sir/ma'am to asshats!

Agreed. I have a very hard time imagining myself committing to another job right now. Some of that might be the depression talking, along with the relief at not having to go to work and get yelled at for not being able to do my job with one hand tied behind my back. But the more I look at writing opportunities and freelancing the more excited I am.

I've put this off long enough. I will probably have to find something to pay the bills until it takes off. But at least I will be moving in the right direction.
