Yeah I was thinking that too. Only barely on the periphery of my radar up 'til now.
 
I love that the suggested videos is some oddball stuff in my own history, including the GWAR cover of Carry On My Wayward Son from the same Onion AV Club series as this video. They get 20 bands to agree, then draw lots to see what song they have to cover.

i think this guy plays this song in a commercial about the homeless

if i recall he was in a homeless shelter and got a break

anyway enjoy this cover of a simple minds hit

This is a couple of years old and may have been posted here before, but I came across it again while looking for something else and thought it was pretty cool. A lot of people may have seen it but I'm not sure if everyone knows the backstory of this Italian village getting 1,000 musicians together to do this cover as a plea for Foo Fighters to play in their area.  When they finish the song, the organizer explains it.

  Oh, I own the DVD/CD combo. Love the entire thing - which is *entirely* covers. Richard Thompson is one of my (very few) boyfriends, at least according to my husband.
