Wrong coast Dudeman.  I'm in NorCal. Skiing is great from what I hear.  Bought new skis, boots and poles before the drought, haven't used them for about three years now.  Having too much fun sailing.

Ha! No, I don't feel better, but I've never worried overly much.

The load-bearing walls in our house are considerably sturdy. Only carpets hang high (well, that freakin' 50" plasma TV is on the half-second floor, oh well), and our dining room table is built like a freakin' fortress. We're good. The dogs and cat? Every mammal for itself.

hmm.. ok your house should be ok if well built and made of wood (light and flexible  they tend to go with the flow) Just make sure you don't have any heavy objects (like a Hobbit or two) that could fall on you. Remember the best thing to do in bed is put the pillow over your head (srsly, its true).  I'd be a bit more concerned about trees falling on the house though. Can you fell any that might do that? The risk is probably higher for a good NW storm though than for an earthquake so I guess you already have loads of experience on this

Tsunami risk looks miniscule at that elevation.

now, feel better?

Edit: And no, we cannot fell any natural trees without HOA permission. Most of our storms blow the Doug-firs away from the house.
