Heya Scott,

I'd like to thank you once again for promoting Dropbox here.  It's damn handy.  Just used it moments ago to send a client some software to install.

and thanks for not changing the link to YOUR code...

'cuz y'know you get extra cloud if people follow your link to sign up...

I've done that but not often. Zip the folder and name it something generic. If you're really paranoid, rename the song files from .mp3 to .HEY or something, then zip the folder. Because dropbox (any service including Yousendit) says they'll drop a dime on you if you share music.

A free app? Try Cyberduck. It does everything I need it to, but there are a couple of annoyances that aren't annoying enough to make me write to the guy. Anyway it works.

Ah, right: Yousendit is great for sending stuff to people. Also, Dropbox is very very handy for sending people files who don't have FTP. You put the file or Zipped folder into the Public folder inside your dropbox, and then right-click on it to pull up the Dropbox menu, choose "Copy Public Link" and email the person that link. By the time they get the email, your file will have automagically uploaded to the cloud. Once they have the file, you can trash it from your computer. They never have access to your actual dropbox/computer.

you mean like a file transfer site? yousendit.com has a free trial. I've used it.

To a point. Exactly like what I said somewhere else about reading text in a mirror to force my brain to really see every word (when checking for typos, etc.), using an ugly, difficult-to-read font should force people to slow down and decipher each word. In the short run, this will work. In the long run, it will (probably) lead to fatigue and people will give up on it. But if every word is critical, maybe in a contract, then I can see where using Papyrus would be a good idea... silly, but good?

Yes it works. Very cool! Do you draw freehand from a photo, do you scan in a photo, or do you just look and draw?

Straight up tracing, drawing with pencil. (if not for tracing it would take twice as long and not be as accurate and cost everyone more.) I spend a lot of time looking for references online, and will often edit the photo before I draw. The drawing is substantially different from the photo... I'm careful about infringement.
