at least the people in the pics seemed to have a successful end to their day!!!

in all seriousness do not buy an IKEA bed if you have any children, or if a child might visit you or lives within a few blocks of you as THEY WILL BOUNCE ON THE BED AND TRASH IT

Indeed. Which ties in with 'Things I Miss': written instructions. I don't really mind ten pages of different languages, if I can tear off the section I need. But that would require translators and $hit, which costs money. Love the cartoon though.

Yeah, I'm kind of that way with circuits too. I know electrical components have a mechanical correlation, but I don't 'see' it the way EEs do. I can calculate out the values according to the formulas, but visualizing it is a whole 'nuther story.

I am so over KD furniture a la IKEA. I can't stand particle board stuff anymore. I'll make something myself first.

YOU THE KIT BUILDERS HAVE SPOKEN!

Thank you for your overwhelming response to our announcement that Heathkit is back into the Do-it-Yourself kits business. We received many great suggestions for kits you would like to build.

We will be releasing Garage Parking Assistant kit (GPA-100) in late September and soon after the Wireless Swimming Pool Monitor kit will be available.

Based on your input, we are looking at developing amateur radio kits. Our goal is to have kits available by the end of year.

Please keep your suggestions coming so that we can continue to bring you interesting, unique Heathkit products

I read somewhere those kits are coming back. Velleman still makes a few also. I have enough fun repairing hair salon equipment already.

I built the Vellemen K4040 90 wpc tube amp about 10 years ago. It wasn't a very good design and took a lot of mods to get it sounding decent and reliable.. A friend of mine I sold it to still uses it daily.

My first job ever was with Grief Kit as a kid wiring up "factory wired" stuff for them. They farmed it out. My Dad was an engineer and a Ham (W9ETP) and got me into electronics at a very early age. He made sure I had an FCC first class before I was HS age. I never became a Ham but it came in handy for when I volunteered for the HS FM station as an "engineer".
