Just line up your playlist, then when you're happy with it click burn disc in the lower right corner.
A dialogue box will come up and within it you get to choose how many seconds go between each track.

The discs should survive the postal service fine, so long as they are sandwiched inside something, like heavy cardboard.  If you were sending to me, I wouldn't ask for one.  I ripped my first month CD to computer anyway.
