Referring to “some” of the players back in Dec, he said he’s bringing his own luggage…you can jump in the portal and see what you can get. Addressing a team that was 1-11 and saying I’m coming and building a winning environment, how could you not expect a significant # would be gone? Many were asked to leave and many left on their own.
“I’m coming. And when I get there, it’s gonna be changed, so I want y’all to get ready to go ahead and jump in that portal and do whatever you’re gonna get because the more of you jump into (the portal), the more room you make because we bring kids that are smart, tough.” The message was clear. Only 10 scholarship players from last season remain. 46 transfers into the program. Speaks for itself, I think. One could argue it was meant to be motivational, but those numbers belie that as do subsequent statements from Deion that he talked with 20 players about it being best for them to transfer and the others “quit.” The turnover was unprecedented even in this transfer portal era.
He brought players that wanted to play for him. He inherited a group that had little to no talent and he had no reason to keep the low performers. I see no reason to condemn him for his use of the portal to build his team around the three players that remained from last years Colorado team.

Why do they call it a horse collar tackle? I would think it would be really hard (impossible) to tackle a horse. Why not say dog collar tackle? I can see that.
When the Buffaloes take the field in Fort Worth, Texas, against No. 17
TCU on Saturday (noon ET, Fox), the only resemblance to last year's team
will be the uniforms. Only 10 scholarship players from the 2022 roster
remain with the team. The team's 86 new players come from all over â
from high school to junior college to the SEC â including nine who
followed Sanders from Jackson State, led by Shedeur Sanders, Deion's son and CU's starting QB, and Travis Hunter,
the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2022 class. According to ESPN Stats
& Information data, it's the most incoming players to an FBS roster
since the inception of the transfer portal in 2018.
As for the "don't let the door hit you in the ass" comments. He literally said the day he took over that he was going to dump most of the players. It's a whole new team.

He got the group that went 1-11 that year...My hats off to him and that kid that played every play practically was amazing.
Ah...not even close. It's an entirely new team. From ESPN 3 days ago.... Prime backs up all the talk. Kind of hate to see it, though. What he did and how he did it — telling players not to let the door hit you in the ass on the way out — could not have been done in the days before the transfer portal.

Good point about the NIL. I forgot that in my comment.
The student-athlete is going the way of dinosaurs in football.
I just thought Prime was way too publicly vocal in talking about how he was getting rid of guys from last yearâs team.
I donât think youâve got the prime story correct.
Did he say to the players, who were 1-11 last year, we are creating a winning environment and your place here is not guaranteed..,youâll need to earn it? Yes.
Donât let door hit you on the ass?
Not his style.
Regardless, that was one helluva game from both teams.
Go Buffs!

With NIL money and the transfer portal, college sports success is just a coach and a season away.
My only issue with it...given all the money that is floating around in major college sports, the general population students shouldn't be paying anything in fees to support athletics. It's insane we live in a country where kids borrowing money pay "student fees" of several hundred dollars per semester to support sports where the coaches all make millions...including now some of the assistant coaches. Many students are taking on debt they can't afford to indirectly support athletics. It's crazy.

I've come to appreciate why even his family doesn't talk to him. I'd say I'm ready for him to retire... but then it'll be all about "the comeback".
I don't get the Jets fascination with him. Don't they remember how the last great Green Bay QB worked out for them? I guess that's why they are always referred to as "The Same Old Jets"
The Fandual commercial with Gronkowski kicking a field goal for the chance of customers to make $10million in free bets. It was on shortly after half time.
oh yeah i thought it was good too
tried to download an app and reg for that million dollar give away
kept getting error msgs
go figure
agree and what kick are you referring to?
first doink or end of regulation chip shot?

It would have been nice to see what Philly could have done with more time. The game was pretty clean of penalties all game so it sucked to see a ticky tacky one called in that situation.
