They need to try and get some audience members who understand proper etiquette, and politely hold their applause until the performer is finished!

I just love it when pre-concieved notions and superficial prejudice align with false superiority and synthetic drama to do battle with sheer talent and creativity only to produce a clear picture of just what power the unique beauty of a human being can project from the innermost to the uttermost...

Me neither. I figure the internets will show me anything I need to see. I don't recall any American Idol entrants knocking one out of the park like these two.

I originally put the video up in the AI thread, because it seemed to confirm my prejudice regarding American Idol as being more focused on finding semi-polished "performers", i.e. decent or hot looking singers with mediocre/possibly good talent. Which is probably the main reason why I have little interest in AI (that and the car wreck aspect of them showing really bad singers who delude themselves into thinking they are talented trying out for the show). Maybe there just aren't enough potential talents out there like Susan Boyle, who don't fit the mold of someone likely to garner votes on AI but have impressive vocal talent. I have to think there must be other people of her caliber out there; are we really that shallow in our appreciation of the merits of our fellow human beings that we automatically dismiss anyone who doesn't look like a potential heartthrob?

I personally didn't think that she was that homely, nothing that a little touchup couldn't help and I am sorry they exploited that.
