I can't find anywhere he said anything racist or hurtful, but I am not a consistent forum reader. His avatar/sig doesn't really lend itself to anything bad, he keeps saying he's not a racists or sexist. I'm not sure if people don't like him, if so why, or if he is something I can't see. The people who don't like him seem to be pretty smart and witty, and I'm inclined to think they are right, but I can't find anything. NO he is a decent bloke, and he was gone for a while, but now he is back. it is called hyperbole... I too am a relative newbie, but i like him. I AM SPARTACUS!! he has had dust ups here, but it is always entertaining.

I've never been able to see into anyone's heart from a forum post (or even from years of forum posts) but I've never seen a racist/sexist word come out of his keyboard. I've crossed swords with him numerous times but his angry rhetoric tends to blow over quickly enough. "People" aren't saying this. There are a couple of folks here who go all non-linear at the mention of his name and have made rash accusations before, and probably will again. I can't say he responds all that rationally either, but calling him those particular names reminds me of campus politics in the '80s. Witch hunting. He denies he's a racist? That's proof right there! People aren't lining up to defend him because his politics aren't popular here, and that matters more than it should. But it's also because he has alienated people who otherwise might. Make up your own mind. And please feel free to speak it.

kurtster wrote:The Viet Nam War was is why 18 year olds got the vote. They were old enough to be drafted, fight and die, therefore they got the right to vote and drink. It was a national tide that swept the nation. I remember. We were gonna get the right to vote, even if we had to burn down the country to get it. The war brought about change, not Kennedy. The drinking age has since rissen to 21 again, maybe we should do the same with the voting age. The war is over and there is no draft. . Edit: I don't need a history book to tell me that, I lived it. Is that how the new revisionist history books explain how 18 year olds got the right to vote, because of only Kennedy ? You are right, he was the "Chief" sponsor according to what I read on the internet. Yes, as I was very young, I had to look it up online. I didn't mean to imply that it was ONLY because of him. Anyway, I've heard of bill sponsors and co-sponsors but never "chief" sponsors, so .... if I'm quoting from a bs site, and you want to do the "gotacha" that seems so prevalent these days, I won't protest.

I'm not so bothered by his expressed bias on the basis of gender — expression which I've not yet found, though I'm sure it's there, somewhere — or his inhumane attitudes towards the disabled (also displayed via a post somewhere, I feel certain). But this recently acquired knowledge of Beaker's negative views on people of color particularly upsets me, since, as I've said before, my own family is such a mixed-race bag:

We reserve the right to edit or delete any post or avatar without notice.
- Failure to follow these guidelines may result in the immediate deletion of the offending posts. Gross or repeated violations will result in the immediate suspension or termination of your posting privileges.
The offensive posts may not be sufficiently numerous to warrant posting privilege suspension/termination, but if this guy's violations have been repeated so much their nature has become common knowledge reflecting an obvious truth, which is probably the case here, I think it's high time for policy enforcement, to rid ourselves of these posts — wherever they may be, that is.

Brandon,
Just to address this latest personal attack - and these fallacious charges of yours —
Please explain to the class:
1) why you are unable to cite anything I have written that supports your comments about my views on race, disability, gender, immigration, etc. Feel free to request any of your fellow like-minded folk to chime in and support your views and affirm they have seen something, somewhere that I have written on these topics - supporting your accusations, of course.
2) where you get the charge of "white-supremacist" from and why you feel you are justified in attaching it to me. Show your work.
3) and lastly, as you look at my upload history here on RP, and my top rated tunes, please explain how your charge that my supposed dislike for people of color, those with disabilities, and of course women, are reflected in the music I have personally selected as my favorites. Surely there must be some glaring omissions you can point to.
Your response here is required. Failing to respond is not an option. You will also receive these comments by PM.
You now have the choice of proving your charges or publicly retracting them. Choose one.
Govern yourself accordingly dude.
What a hoot you are...Thanks for all the laughs.

For now, I'm just letting it run it's course - the world is full of whackos of the fascist persuasion, most days there's no need to look beyond the national borders to find em either - there's nothing wrong with a little yammerheading to ease the tension a bit but, we'll be back to business as usual shortly - probably just need another Sunday service in Texas or Florida for the material to start pouring itself onto YouTube. Here, here's what these nutbags are teaching their children - are these kids old enough to read the t-shirts they're wearing?
