Wow! Was the jury in the room for this? Can she just rule for the plaintiffs and end the trial? It sounds like he's abandoned any hope of winning.

No, they were out of the courtroom at the time.

He has already lost. This trial is just about how badly. The trial is to determine damages. I do hope he is charged with perjury.

She should just let him talk. Give him the rope to hang himself.

Then drop the gavel on his slimy ass.

Jury should have been out of the room for that.

It gets worse. This is the slimiest of "I'm sorry you were offended" passive-voice apologies. The whole quote:

“I unintentionally took part in things that did hurt these people’s feelings, and I’m sorry for that.”

Dude, that is so not the issue.

They should not only bankrupt him, but they should make him do 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 10 years...on the radio... explaining how he made so much money (sometimes $800k per day) selling bullshit to those who would believe anything, at the expense of families who had their 8-year-olds murdered in a school decorated for the holidays.

Today at CPAC...
Viktor Orban...hanging with his bud Donnie at his Saudi-back golf outing last week.   The guy who last week talked about White Supremacy in a speech (Viktor, not Donnie).  As a result:

A member of Viktor Orban’s inner circle resigned after the Hungarian prime minister spoke out against becoming “peoples of mixed race”. Zsuzsa Hegedus, who has known the nationalist Mr Orban for 20 years, described the speech as a “pure Nazi text”, according to Hungarian media. The International Auschwitz Committee of Holocaust survivors called the speech “stupid and dangerous”.

If you haven't been to Hungary, it's what Tucker wants the US to be.  Authoritarian.  Xenophobic. Strong!

No, no—that was the Russians!

Not clear from this what they actually did to promote extreme Republican candidates. Did they advertise? Have their surrogates promote them? Hand out MAGA hats to winos asleep in alleys?

Or did they chuckle, rub their hands together, and write detailed memos to each other and convince themselves that their brilliant strategy was working?

Likely most of that was directed through friendly media outlets.

A particularly interesting race for the likes of me is Peter Meijer's district in Michigan. Meijer took over for Justin Amash after he retired and has proved to be a very similar politician: a principled libertarian running as a Republican to get ballot access; a species that is no longer terribly welcome in the Republican party.

He is facing a MAGA primary challenger backed by Trump, whose wrath Meijer incurred by voting for impeachment the second time. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has run TV ads for the challenger—something he hasn't been able to fund himself. The DCCC obviously (if cluelessly) thinks he'd be easier to beat than Meijer.

This reminds me of John Oliver urging Trump to run in 2013.

Keep on keepin' on.
