Plans for the weekend.
Jr's first sleepover at my house without Momma and Daddy. Just me and Jr. Lot's of fun stuff planned and not planned... NO RULES!!!! This weekend is the annual Christmas Stroll on the square. Lots of fun stuff on the agenda. Friday afternoon starting at 5pm in the Whoville area we will be decorating cookies with the Grinch himself followed by a screening of The Grinch movie projected on the courthouse with seating where you find it on the lawn.
Saturday morning will be tacos ( or cookies ) for breakfast and then out in the front yard to watch as the Christmas parade goes right past my house. Best seats in town. Jr was thrilled with the Poppyfest parade. This year she is ALL about Christmas in the way only a 3 year old can be. We are both looking forward to seeing the Grinch and Santa as the parade goes by. ( Santa is my good friend Tom and Jr will be getting a special visit from him over the weekend). Last year at Poppyfest the Cat in the Hat sat in my front yard to take a break. Jr was very impressed that I know such important folks around town.
After the parade it'll be down to the festival for whatever the day brings us. The livestock in Bethlehem is always a big hit. I suspect we'll find lot's of fun stuff to do Mom, Dad and baby Asa will join us at some point later during the day.
On Sunday night my daughter Kerri and I will adult at a Post Modern Jukebox show at ACL Moody Theater.
Big weekend indeed

Finding (I hope) my mother's bread pudding recipe. It's in one of her cookbooks and has notations on it. I'm not sure I completely understand her notes, but I'm willing to give it a try.

I hope you get power soon! My poor friend who's also still out is sick and has two young girls who are also sick and her husband had to leave the country this morning. If her power isn't on soon, we're going to take our generator to her house. A lot of people are starting to get sick now, probably from exhaustion/decreased immunity. I also gave my battery operated fan to another friend today along with a bunch of D batteries, all our ice and frozen bottles of water. Another friend is on her way to get the blocks of ice I made in plastic containers. Irma has caused one of the largest natural disaster-related blackouts in U.S. history. It's going to take a reallllly long time to bounce back, especially for The Keys.
