Just like to point out that there are progressives who have left or severely restricted their participations in the forum because of hostility from right (which may or may not have been aimed directly at them but made a toxic environment for them)
Cancel culture is only bad (or noteworthy) when it's your side being canceled.
A lot of the people that left because of rancor and politics are now on Facebook. This really makes me feel like I'm reading one of these websites improperly.

Sorry but thatâs always going to be the case and when you throw in the extra touchy topic of politics on top then without question you are going to set off some big fires from time to time. Iâm not excusing bad behavior just acknowledging that it is almost inevitable in certain forums where battle lines are drawn and people are passionately dug into their positions.

Three versions of drama here in the forums IMHO: kurtster - with whom I disagree on politics but have polite grownup conversations about music/turntables/vinyl. It’s sad to see people attack him personally. Ohmsen - who seems intent on stirring the shit but also has posted some interesting musical videos and seems to also be here for the tunes. Meh. KK - who has done nothing but stir shit since arriving. They’re one of the reasons that the forums are contentious - it’s their goal. They have no additive value at RP. They need to be kicked off.
Agreed. I think someone who has admitted to the fact that they are paid to stir up political shit falls under the spam category.
It about as much fun as getting emails from a dead uncle in Nigeria. The novelty very quickly wears off.

Yeah. I guess you're right, VV. Make a bed, eat the dead. Who cares? Maybe B@R but maybe not. After all, it's probably to much to ask that people temper disagreements. The point of enjoying the relief it gives to let a non-compliant reprobate have it right in the face. It feels good, after all. Also they deserve what they get. What's to save?
