You would think that the Republicans would be super happy.

No VAT.

No increase in fuel taxes.

More deficit-financed expenditure increases.    That in particular has to appeal to the Marxist-Keynesians in the Republican party.

The current impasse reminds of former prime minister Stephan Harper lamenting not so long ago how it was far more difficult for US federal politicians to get anything done than it was for him as prime minister to get stuff done with a minority government.

I was a modest fan of Biden's initial tax plan, but wtf has happened?
Instead of a simple plan, its turned into a mess of different proposals, probably thousands of pages long.
KISS people!
If you can't do that, please punt and move on....we don't need more chaos.

2. Sure I do. A border is an imaginary line, across which one country's laws no longer apply and another's do.

If you enter illegally, that makes your presence here illegal.

But then again, you do not believe in borders in the first place.

Judge Jeanine reveals who she believes is running the White House  — Fox News

She is getting paid top dollar to do this, eh?

Question:  Is Jeanine really stoopid?  Or is Jeanine really well paid to treat her audience as if they were stoopid?

Speculative (fiction). Biden might have also used Obama's pandemic playbook. Or not.

Now that is an interesting perspective.  Scott, you would make a great backroom boy.   Except I am not sure that anybody in the Trump Republican party would listen.

A CNN news report ranks higher than a W.E. opinion piece.

You should have posted this in July.

Biden's number of deaths will stay higher as long as there are the unvaxxed (you know who) on a suicide mission.

Trump was not such a bad guy.

Donald J. Trump will likely spawn a small industry of graduate students who will toil away estimating how pandemic deaths were due to his policies and rhetoric.

My back of the hand guestimate suggests somewhere in the 200K to a quarter of a million range.    Busy, bright graduate students would provide far more clarity.  Critics might argue, and with some reason, that Trump was simply the spokesperson for a broad-based domestic political movement intent on harming Americans.

See?  Trump:  great guy.

Did Biden try to downplay the deadliness, spread and mutability of Covid as Trump did?

Did Biden encourage American states to end lockdowns prematurely as Trump did?

Did Biden discourage Americans from getting vaccinated or cast doubt about the safety of the vaccines as Trump did?

Did Biden discourage Americans from wearing masks or practicing social distancing as Trump did?

Did Biden almost die from Covid like Trump?

If Biden exaggerated the effectiveness of  Covid vaccines back in July, he at least is trying to convey the truth and accurate information from reliable sources.

Trump—not so much.

Spoiler alert for others ... when I see a CNN url pop up on a link, I don't click.  It truly amazes me how many still trust them for their facts and enough so as to pass it on to others.

Not me.  The ones with the sore butts and walkin' real funny right now are the ones who voted for Joe.

I must admit that I am really amazed at how fast just one person can fuck things up so totally for everyone.

This is some interesting reading :

(it should go in the Biden Lies thread but this will do for now)

More people will have died from COVID under Biden than Trump

(What is most impressive is that Joe has had a vaccine to work with from day one.)

It is amusing how, in year one of the pandemic, every story about the virus was a “blame Trump” story. Absolutely nothing Biden has done is working, yet Biden really never gets blamed for anything.

Sure, Trump said a lot of wacky things, but Biden has told many falsehoods about the virus as well. He stated , for example, that "If you're vaccinated, you're not going to be hospitalized, you're not going to be in the ICU unit and you're not going to die." And then, shortly after those comments, Biden contradicted himself and added that even if vaccinated people do "catch the virus," they are "not likely to get sick."

Further, when discussing the delta variant, Biden stated that vaccines "cover" the delta variant insofar as people will not contract the virus if vaccinated. "You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,” Biden said .

Presidents should be given some leeway when they talk about pandemics. They are just relaying information from “experts” who seem to be either wrong or oversimplifying as often as not.

That said, if Biden were held to the same standard Trump was, he would be exposed for his lies and incompetence.
