Biden refuses to call Putin's actions war crimes but more importantly also steadfastly refuses to stop the importation of Russian oil, an act that will actually hurt Putin more than anything else we can do. We currently import 10% of our oil from Putin.
I guess you're willing to pay a few extra dollars on a gallon for the Ukrainians.

Gosh, you're right. Hunter's paintings just might cause WWIII...

Of course the President is. Even though his offspring isn't being paid to be on White House staff, not trying to solve the Middle East, not using influence to get deals with other countries - heâs a target for criticism. It's like that line from Newsroom: "the NEA only costs you pennies out of your paycheck but they get to hit you over the head with it anytime they want. It doesn't cost money; it costs votes."
To loosely quote Frank: âIs that a real problem or is it a Sears problem?â

+ Trump Republicans and Biden Democrats share a deep attachment to an anti-science, anti-data perspective on policy, share the cheap energy entitlement and show a clear preference for obesity-sitting-dementia policies.
+ Oil prices are ramping up (again) and poor little Joe has no idea what to do. Time to reinvade Iraq, Joe? Would you like to invade and occupy Venezuela? Is there anybody you would like to kill out frustration?
+ Political mendacity is one of the social values that Americans of all political persuasions deeply share. The Democrats have been showing us how they shine at making up stuff and repeating it in a loud voice. Is this any different from what the Trump Republicans did?
+ All Americans support the Monroe Doctrine. Many support applying the Monroe outside of the western hemisphere. The USA is a nation full of people of Great Stature; the laws and rules that apply to others do not apply to Americans.
+ Both Democrats and Republicans love human rights abusing authoritarian nations as long as their policies jibe with American priorities. Egypt, Morocco, the Philippines and to a lesser extent the Ukraine are a few examples.
likely "most" Americans aren't paying attention to any of this nor to any armchair pundit analysis, at least not willingly. Hence the disconnect between the cultural slog and actual preference settings on constructive political/social commentary...

But I can't see how anyone could argue either party over the past decade has provided anything of a roadmap for the country's future...unless that future is simply prop up consumer spending on trinkets.
Yep. Remember Kennedy: âwe go to the moon not because it is easy, but because it is hard.â
The culture has devolved from the pursuit of greatness and happiness to the selfishness of capitalism. Why? Because people are unsure. If they didnât have to worry that others having health care and education and food and housing meant that they would be forced to do without those things, then there would be less fighting about giving those things to others. And then they can move on to other things.
The failure of our leaders to work together to provide for everyone (and that means sacrificing some golden idols like military spending) means that their constituents are having to home school, to use GoFundMe for health care costs, and living on the streets because they canât afford homes. This is a primary failure of our government - while they argue about Dr. Seuss.
Thatâs the usual position that Democrats find themselves in, right? Obama had to fix the financial devastation left by his predecessor. Biden is having to do the same. Itâs a pattern.
Republican policies are responsible for damage, than Democrats come in and try to help fix it and are called incompetent. âLook how theyâre failing.â
The kid tears up his room, and the parent has to pick it up.
Well the bit about the great recession is nonsense. That was directly attributed to clinton tearing up glass steagall.
So we had Bush II destroy our global position, and open the pandora's box of mid-east terrorism. Obama didnt fix any of that...
Not sure why, but Obama was ineffectual and could have done so much more for the country, given the broad support he had. Probably b/c he jammed through ACA, without any GOP support, and half the country against it. Don't get me wrong, i believe in universal healthcare, but not ACA.
And of course the republicans did destroy the one piece of the legislation that might have actually allowed it to work - individual mandate.
But I can't see how anyone could argue either party over the past decade has provided anything of a roadmap for the country's future...unless that future is simply prop up consumer spending on trinkets.
Maybe at best they stopped the slide. Certainly haven't done much to bring the country together.

Sure I can. He got handed a country estranged from its allies, a weird deal struck in Afghanistan, an economy where the rich got a tax break, a pandemic that will go away in the spring like magic, a split-in-two America that the former guy encouraged, and a Supreme Court that was rigged. The car was already off the road and on the shoulder and then it started pouring virus-soaked rain. Half the drivers refused to turn on their wipers.
And oh, boo hoo, Biden didnât meet the Republicansâ expectations.
So the country was going to hell in a bucket...and what are we doing about it?
I suppose if you don't believe in fiscal responsibility, then throwing trillions of $ out the window is a plan.
I don't see how democratic leadership has provided any solutions. Maybe at best they stopped the slide. Certainly haven't done much to bring the country together.
And thank goodness for the two democrats who actually seem to have enough marbles to stop the runaway, partisan nonsense.
Didn't Manchin's approval rating shoot up? Does that mean anything?
We need more folks on both sides willing to remove themselves from the tyranny of their own parties, for the good of the country.

You forgot a slight majority in the senate that turned out not to be a democratic majority afterall
