The first taste is free.  Try Kind of Blue or Miles Ahead next, then Sketches of Spain and In A Silent Way. The electric Miles (like the vastly overpraised Bitches Brew) is for dedicated fans (or Deadheads) only, IMO.

Also try the documentary The Miles Davis Story. Thumbs up.

Yes, I have seen and heard the highlighted above and always liked him, just not as much since I heard this!

HUMAN RIGHTS

Two years ago, right-wing groups and George W. Bush's veto threat blocked the Matthew Shepard Act, a bill that would outlaw hate crimes based on both sexual orientation and gender identity. But now that President Bush is out of office, the bill is back and recently passed in the House of Representatives.

Tell the Senate to follow the House's lead! »

Unfortunately, this success in the House means that the right-wing is doing everything it can to undermine the bill in the Senate. They're telling lawmakers that this hate crimes law would subject pastors to criminal penalties for preaching the gospel, endanger Christianity and end free speech — even though the bill specifically protects speech, including sermons and only applies to violent action.

Help us fight the lies and keep the momentum going — tell the Senate to support the Matthew Shepard Act. »

Sorry to hear that. May I ameliorate the blow, in however small a manner, by welcoming you here to RP? I see you interacting in the One Word -Two Words etc threads, and want to greet any foray you may make into the charming silliness of the topical threads.
