The furnace being fired up for the first time since springtime.
We usually hold out until late October but 3 out of 4 in this house brought home some nasty bug from school so I gave in and fired it up a couple of weeks ago. Ah, the smell of burning spiders!
I thought you heated your house with people and critters
It's enough, sometimes. And sometimes with the house shut up tight, it's necessary to fire up the furnace just to flare off some methane.

I like the idea of gyros but that weird lamb spam they use that they carve off a spindle like it's an actual leg of lamb or something is too much. I'm okay with the suspension of disbelief with most food but that all's a bit too far.
I'd eat it. I think the local food truck uses the ground meat but in any city I expect better. Maybe not. I'm going to rescind my earlier condemnation because right now I'd eat whatever. :hungry:
the idea of kimchi can be a bit off putting for some
it can easily fall into the category of looks and smells odd but tastes great
think of it like chunky sauerkraut with a kick (i love certain types of sauerkraut too)
and you're correct that eating fermented food is good for your innerds
bottom line: try different brands/versions until you settle on something you desire
i love this brand (i think it's korean)
note: my partner says some batches seem a bit more spicy but they taste pretty consistent to me
I've always wanted to try it, thanks for the brand suggestion!
(fyi: One cannot have a proper bratwurst without sauerkraut )
I'm a big red cabbage fan myself. My Swiss grandmother had a great homemade recipe.
I will carefully venture into the world of kimchee, Miamizsun. Thanks for the recommendation. Perhaps the taste is better than the smell but if not I will be quite bummed.

The problem is particularly acute for Florida, which has 2.6 million septic systems, according to the state's Department of Health. That represents 12% of all the septic systems in the U.S.
