Some Cuban plumbers were demolishing my mothers bathroom while making uncalled-for smartass remarks in spanish about la vieja (the old one, meaning my mother) and la gorda (the fat one — by process of elimination, me). One said something to another of them and that he wouldnt want to have a problem with him (sort of a mild mannered threat) which was met with some mumbling spanish curse words. At this point I made my surprise entrance, "Y tu no quieres una problema conmigo tambien. Cuidate." Meaning, "and you don't want a problem with me either—be careful."  When they got over their shock they did a good job.  Y la gorda heard no more disrespect about la vieja.
