And yes, Apple customer service in Apple Stores and over the phone is pretty damned great.

Thats no worse than replacing a battery in a Moto X. You heat up the back cover with a heat gun or other heat source to soften the glue that holds it on and either use the "official" factory pry tool to remove it or if you are cheap like me use guitar pics to lift it off slowly around the perimeter. Then you can get to the battery. Makes the difference of $7.49 for the battery from Amazon or about $100 for the factory cervice center to do it.

Here's a funny one. Several months ago I realized my 4S was no longer joining wifi networks. I opened the wifi settings and flipped the switch off, intending to switch it back on, and the phone froze. I rebooted the and noticed the wifi switch was grayed out and unavailable. I googled the issue and tried some things but found no solution to the problem. I figured I'd start looking for another phone. I don't want to spend $500-$600 for a new phone so I've been keeping my eyes open for a used phone. 

The other day I thought, "Maybe I should run this latest update to see if it magically fixes my wifi." So I did, but it didn't. I googled the problem again and found a vidio shot by a kid describing how to fix the problem. First you heat your phone up with a blow dryer until it shuts down and gives you the message about overheating. Then you power off the phone. Then you put the phone in a ziploc and put it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. WTF? 

I looked at the comments........some said it worked. Some complained about toasting their phone. I decided to give it a try but I just put it on my dashboard in the hot sun until the heat protection circuit kicked in. (I'm not going to point a blow dryer at my phone) Then I shut it down, slipped it into a ziploc, and put it in the fridge. After 10 minuted I pulled it out, booted it up, and checked the wifi settings. The switch was no longer grayed out. I flipped it to the on position and immediately joined my home network. 

Who thinks this shit up?

Apple plays defense on iPhone 6 bending, software concerns | Reuters

The new phones face criticism over their bendability, dubbed "bendgate". Social media and online forums have been abuzz with comments about how the new phones can bend when placed in back pockets or while wearing skinny jeans.

Apple said its iPhones feature stainless steel and titanium inserts to reinforce high-stress locations and use the strongest glass in the smartphone industry.

The only way an iPhone may have bent is if someone put it in their back pocket and sat on the phone for a very long time, said Laban Roomes, chief executive of Goldgenie, which customizes and gold plates iPhones.

Apple was also forced to withdraw a faulty update to its latest operating system after some users of its new phones complained of call service disruptions.

"We apologize for the great inconvenience experienced by users," Muller said.

Here's an idea - you notice that your customers phone's aren't holding up when they're placed in pockets.  Your customers prefer to carry phones in pockets.  Design phone to be carried in pocket.
