June is already nutso for us. The week after that DBT concert, we've got 3 concerts and a comedy show in 5 days. We're going to be in Ibiza on 8/2. 30th anniversary cruise.
Yeah we need to scrimp too but ... y'know.
Sprog1 is doing a semester in Ireland and her mom thinks she'll need to be checked up on.

Posting here because I know ptooey has a minor thing for tiki... this guy does cool stuff but has sent up a signal flare... if anyone needs a little print for the cabana... the one I got is postcard sized, plus the mat. ...not sure if there are larger prints available.

Things have been rugged for the last seven months or so, since before summer. Once the vaccines became widely available and places started opening up again, my sales took a deep dive. Each month Iâve been having to use what money Iâve been able to squirrel away into savings to get through. And though the situation somewhat improved in the fall and during the holidays, I still came up short each month. At this point, post-holidays, I feel like Iâm circling the drain.

Iâm struggling to come up with Febâs rent and the string of bills that are due soon afterwards.

Well, all looks right as as the rain we've been getting the last few days. I guess I'll really know tomorrow morning when I talk to my first student at 6 am.
By way of esplaination (which I can't do since I don't know wtf I'm doing but I'll try): In January, Justine saw hiccup's little Acer AspireOne 9" laptop. Justine's work requires a PC and we're mac people, so she had to go to a cube farm at midnight to video chat with people in Korea. By spending $300 on that little Acer, she was able to work from home... much better ahhh. Then they said to upgrade to IE8 and had said earlier NOT to use Firefox because of their corporate website being built by monkeys and all so she did all that and IE8 ran really slow for a week and then some auto update thing killed it. We don' no nuttin bout no winderz so our options were pretty much throw it away or eat it. But I googled up the error message I was getting and it translated roughly to "you moron. You are so screwed." Then I googled it with the added word "Acer" and I got a lot of hits indicating that if I'd been a good Windows boy I would have made a recovery disk as soon as I unpacked the thing to begin with. Nice. Brand new machine, prepare for the inevitable right now... ***apple positive experience anecdote withheld*** So I PM'd ptooey mostly for moral support but also to ask if he'd been good and made the recovery disk and he said no but while on a conference call or something, he surfed around and found a torrent that a guy'd made of just what I needed. Downloaded it last night, tried it on a thumb drive at first but that didn't work so I burnt a CD of it (using the mac) and after a couple of false starts it installed Windows just like if I'd bought it and since I have a legit key it's all kosher! Installed Firefox (oh yeah, the company tech monkey told Justine if she's having such a hard time with IE8, why doesn't she just use Firefox? ) and will get the non-McAfee AV solution going shortly.
Learning lots of crap I don't wanna know, but that wasn't nearly as painful as it probably should have been, thanks to ptooey.
