"Republicans have been busy in recent weeks seeking to achieve that: Texas, Indiana, Missouri and Florida have all either redrawn their congressional districts or floated the idea, in hopes of adding new Republican seats to the House. At Trumpâs behest, the Texas GOP added five seats favorable to Republicans. Texas, Indiana, Missouri and Florida all have Republican trifectas â where the GOP controls both chambers of the legislature and the governorâs seat â making it much easier to consider redistricting.
But of the 15 states with Democratic trifectas, only Maryland and Illinoisâ legislatures have clear pathways to redraw lines that could make seats more competitive for Democrats. California and New York, meanwhile, can ask voters to change state gerrymandering laws to redistrict down the road. While new maps in Texas and California (if approved by voters) could cancel each other out by both adding up to five seats for each party in the House, the GOPâs additional targets of Indiana and Missouri could push Republicans a handful of seats beyond what Democratic states appear capable of flipping."

False Equivalency rides again.
The Difference in 9/2025 is that a President of the 'Divided' States of America has suggested/insisted/ordered a State ... ANY State ... to redraw districts in a deliberate attempt to gain seats so his party gains an advantage in the next election. This is an obscene grab of our Constitution's pu**y. Feel violated? You should be.
Both Red and Blue have gerrymandered to their advantage. The issue here is more red states have chosen the reps through redistricting far more than Democratic states that leaned toward impartial, non-partisan committees. Research begins now...

It started in California decades ago.
Presently in California as of August 2025 25% of voters are registered repub while 45% were dems.
The state had 53 seats now 52 due to people fed up and leaving. Presently 43 are dem and 9 are repub. The balance is already disproportionally out of whack.
With only 25% of the population the repubs should have 13 seats to the dems 23 with the remaining 16 seats split 50 / 50 which if done equitably would work out to 21 repubs and 31 dems.
43 / 19 is not disproportionate enough ? Newsome wants to make it 48 / 14. And you agree ?
No... I don't agree with any of it... but this entire process (in 2025) was STARTED BY TRUMP. And you agree until there is a reaction.
âWe have an opportunity in Texas to pick up five seats. We have a really good governor, and we have good people in Texas. And I won Texas. I got the highest vote in the history of Texas, as you probably know, and we are entitled to five more seats.â
Entitled? Yes your majesty.
