Thanks for your well thought out post but what prompted my statement about Kurtsterâs reply to RPâs post (about anti-Communist classes becoming mandatory in Florida schools) was that Kurtster seemed to imply that this was better than teaching pro-Communist classes⦠as if that was ever on the table as an alternative.
Bottom line is that Trump is destroying America in so many ways it is just hard to keep up anymore.
To be fair, trump is just a convenient hammer. Those that wield the tool are responsible for the destruction.
It's like quantum entanglement, he can actually do both at once. But as soon as you observe one of him in one state, the other immediately collapses into the other and you are left wondering who the hell you are actually talking to.
As far as Kurtster's painting all of politics into a linear spectrum with communism on one side and fascism on the other, well, there are some pretty fundamental flaws with it.
First fascism and communism are closely aligned in spirit. (Nazi = National Socialism, remember?). The only difference being that the industrialists get to keep their wealth under fascism and under communism those very same types become card carrying members of the party and join the politburo, but to all intents and purposes they are pretty much the same in their disdain for the individual and brutal oppression of any free-thinkers, trade unions, opposition and also minorities. Both are based on a concentration of power and both are appalling on just about any metric you want to choose, including economics.
So suddenly this linear spectrum is not linear, but a ring, where the bad guys get to party out the back. And if you want any substantiation, just look at how similar Stalin and Hitler were in their treatment of minorities and any opposition.
Secondly, if you strip away the current verbiage and instead concentrate on who is holding the power, and how they want to hold power, it all becomes much easier to understand. The real fight is simply between an open society where we talk things over, reconcile differences and come to a shared agreement, holding people accountable as we go along, and a society where we don't and just lay back like puppies as master's boot comes sweeping along to kick us all down the road.
That is the only fight that is going on here. So when people say the US is slipping towards fascism, you could swap the word fascism out with communism and it wouldn't make much difference.
Disenfranchising voters, which seems to be the next step in Trump's playbook is precisely what a communist would do. He and the coterie of industrialists around him are the biggest socialists out there.
I am astonished at the number of 'strong willed, free spirited' people who want nothing more than 'independence', that are happy to go along with being told exactly what to do by a plainly fascist group as long as they stroke their egos and oppress others who scare them.

Hey Kurtser, you like a good conspiracy theory. Here's one to really sink your teeth into.
I'd post it under unresearched consipiracy theories, just this one seems to actually have some research behind it.
Iâm trying to figure out if you are an actual idiot⦠or just play one on RP?

Perhaps you can come up with a lesson plan for the joys and benefits of Communism ?
You could start with saying what is the best thing about Communism ?
The best thing about communism is that it isn't fascism. Sometimes you have to make hard choices. In WWII The US allied itself with Josef Stalin against fascism. Time Magazine declared Stalin man of the year one year. That alliance ended after WWII. To be clear, Stalin was an evil genocidal dictator that I would not ever wish on the world.
That fascism has been taking over the whole western world. It happened to come along with a so-called free market economy and democracy as dubious as a term like that can be. Together, they established themselves as the greatest disease mankind has ever suffered from - just like one hundred years ago.

I await the evidence or support you have for your claim.

Yes, it is very likely, imo.

Edit: Or are you saying he will be prosecuted by the Trump DOJ in the manner of prosecution of Trumpâs political enemies?
Okay just to be clear: You think Walz' "fraud problems" are more of a concern for Walz than ICE murdering people in his state? Got it.
Do you really think Walz gives a rat's ass about these people ? The only person Walz is worried about is Walz. All else is political show, towing the party line, imo.
Later, I'm at work and about to go home. Signing off.
Walz is âgoing downâ for what? He already has announced he is not running for reelection and that decision was influenced by the fraud scandal. Are you implying he will be charged with a crime?
