It's funny; I'm working on an art project/competition (a green/recycle theme) and I was thinking of using those discs, glued down like subway tiles, to use as a painting surface.  I probably had hundreds of them but I must've tossed them years ago.  There's a cool "re-use" store here that sells all sorts weird odds and ends (old typewriters, rotary phones, old tools, vintage fabric, etc.).  I go there to buy frames (with glass still in them) and things like foam core.  I went to look for some of those 3½" disks and even they didn't have any.  They have 55 gal. drums full of DVD's and CDs though, but they're harder to make a completely filled, flat painting surface with since they're round.  I may have to do some sort of mosaic piece.

I'm looking for a very odd font.

I'm trying to get part numbers marked on a CNC punch press. I can turn outline fonts into lines and edges on the metal but what I need is a font made up of dots. Tiny circles that the punch press software will interpret as places to dent with a centerpunch. I need what amounts to a pointilist line font.

Anybody know of such a thing?
