I haven't been on RP for awhile - I finally ripped all my CDs, and have them on random play. But I had to login and post a note - here - about one of Patty's songs that just came around: Tony.
Just like many other PG songs, it is brutally emotional and relatable. So deeply personal and painful, I had to drop in here - maybe just to get it out, or to say 'Maybe we should pay more attention to people around us.' Sure high school was brutal - more brutal for some - but that's not an excuse. We all battle demons nobody knows about - and demons everybody knows about, e.g. Tony.
All the best to the RP family - I may have to pause my CD rotation and see what Bill's been up to...

The sound system was capable of producing loud music without distortion, but not very balanced. In my not so professional opinion, it was too bright. As much as I dig Patty's voice, the gain on her mic was way too high.
I'll cut them a little slack due to a last minute theater change. Apparently the ticket sales were weak (WTF!!!), so they switched us to a smaller theater at the Mesa Arts Center. They probably had minimal time to do sound checks.
She had a venue change here too, but days before. The PA was awful, lots of distortion at higher volumes. Made her voice unintelligible when the band kicked in. The quieter moments were fine.
Still a terrific show, just not all it could have been.

We were sitting about 50 ft from her, and I can confirm that without a doubt, she is in fact, a goddess!
Hope the sound system was better than her show here. Kinda dulled the edge.
Her backup band was terrific.

I just posted an invite on Patty's FB page to join us (winter &, shesdifferent) at the local pizza bistro for a slice and a beer before tonight's show. I wonder if she'll respond.
