My wife and I flew to Sacramento from Ontartio (California) quite few years ago. We made it in 45 minutes.
My sister in law just flew into Palm Springs from Sacramento via Los Angeles. She left Modesto this morning at 2 a.m. Her plane landed at Palm Springs at 9:35 a.m.
I pointed out to her that if she left Modesto at 2:00 a.m., driving to our house, she would have showed up about 8:30 a.m. I would have driven.
Maybe if America didn't go out of it's way to interfere in the affairs of other nations fewer people would be interested in blowing up airplanes full of Americans. Then we wouldn't need all this faux "security."
Just a thought.
I agree. It just irks me that people can get in such an uproar over what, for the most part, is just an inconvenience to their traveling schedule, yet no one seems to have a problem with what the Patriot Act does.
Funny to me that the same people who seem to be in an uproar about the security measures are the same ones all for them about eight years ago, along with being all for the so-called Patriot Act. Talk about losing your freedoms...I'll take annoyances at the airport over illegal wiretapping anyday. / soapbox
We shouldn't have to make the choice.

You might get the impression, from the way the coverage has achieved warp speed, that millions of airline passengers are being groped and humiliated by heavy-handed security guards.
From network newscasts to local TV, from newspaper front pages to a blur of Web headlines, it seems untold numbers of women are having their breasts touched and untold numbers of men are feeling the intrusive hands of government guards near their packages.
Actually, that’s far from true. Despite some outrageous incidents involving idiotic conduct, with 2 million passengers screened each day, more than 99 percent are unaffected by the new policy.

It always starts with a toe in the water to see how much pushback there will be. Then they try to convince us they are making us safer. Each time the government says they are protecting us, we lose a little more freedom.

Not only do the new airport body scanners take risque pictures but according to the U.S. Marshals Service, the images in their thousands are being saved on hard disks.
DENVER - USA - A full body scanner operator was caught masturbating during a scanning session by airport staff late Tuesday.
My prognosis . . . naah, make that my prophecy because that's more fun, is that Christine O'Donnell will rally the Madhatter Tea Party against orgasms & ejaculations among the security personnel on duty, in uniforms ! God doesn't like airport security anymore. heh heh
