Drink today, and drown all sorrow;
You shall perhaps not do it tomorrow;
Best, while you have it, use your breath;
There is no drinking after death.

My dad and I have golfed together for years, almost always poorly — the ultimate duffers. But I love my dad's attitude — if he scuffs it along the ground 20 yards instead of the 200 to the green as he planned, his response will almost always be: "Well, forward is good."

I think that's good advice for most things in life.

I haven't seen her since she sobered up, but when "Nick Of Time" came out I could tell something had really changed for her.

I've just recently started to discover her older stuff.  She has an amazing storytelling ability in her songs.

And hiya, bokey :)

This version was quoted by Abraham Lincoln:

There is so much good in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us, that it ill behooves any of us to talk about the rest of us.

- Edward Hoch

also the modern version quoted by my grandmother, whom I miss dearly, on many occaisons:

There is so much good in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us, that it hardly becomes any of us to talk about the rest of us.
